Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent bow tie Bought this green/navy bow tie several years ago in N.Y. and it has maintained both its appearance and quality in a stunning way! Easy to tie and does not wrinkle easily. The bow tie has preppy stripes that will go well with a shirt and a jacket both at a garden party or at a semi formal event. Right now, all the bow ties in my wardrobe are BB and the reasons for that are: quality, appearance, price and the amount of compliments I have been given about my my outfits and especially my bow ties! Rated 5 out of 5 by Never goes out of style. This bow is probably best for less formal attire in fall tones, weights and textures. The simple stripe stands up well to beefy oxfords in solids and patterns, and the bow has enough visual weight and actual hand to hold its own with hard-finish suits and sport coats. The rich red and gold tones of this bow really come to fore when paired with a brown herringbone Harris Tweed suit or sport coat or a camel hair blazer. Pair with cordovan shoes and belt for a nice complement. July 20, 2011

Hello,

Brooks Brothers bowties length is 18 inches. However, the width is different for certain types of bowties. For example; the butterfly bowtie width is 2 ¼ inches and point end bowtie width is 1 ¾ inches. While we are on the subject of neckwear, the length of a regular tie (including slim) is 58 inches. Extra long ties length is 62 inches.
Width of regular tie is 3 ¼ inches and slim tie is 2 5/8 inches.

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Brooks Brothers bow ties are all adjustable and self-tie, though there are a few that are pre-tied in our Formalwear section. Please feel free to refer to "The Index" on the main page beneath "Categories" and you will see at the bottom, we have included a section that explains how to tie a bow-tie. It does require some patience but it is very satisfying once you master the steps!
