Very happy. This coat was a great purchase. It looks great - not too casual or too dressy. Very versatile. It's a great weight for all but the coldest climates. January 15, 2012
Great coat Wife ordered this coat for me as a good fall early winter coat. Fit was right on, I ordered a large and normally wear a 44 and it fit perfect. A lot warmer than I thought it would be since it felt so light. Great material and well made. Probably will be my go to coat this winter October 26, 2011
Great Coat The cut is great, standup larger collar, slash pockets and good line. Fabric is beautiful and the navy blue is deep and rich. Interior pocket details are good too. However the weight of the wool is light so it seems more like a fall spring jacket. I tried a medium and a large. The medium was the right length but a little too tight and the large was baggy and very long sleeves. I think this is a classic coat that should be available in more sizes like a short or a long. I would also like to see a camel color version and lastly a thicker wool or padded version for cold winter weather. October 5, 2011
Must have coat! I have a lot of "technical" coats for casual/cold weather and this coat takes the attributes of technical outdoor clothing into a more formal coat. First week I wore this coat I was in NYC when it got hit with cold, snow, and freezing rain...the coat handled it all and kept me warm and dry! February 5, 2011

I wear a 40R suit size, but with somewhat longer arms, and a size 33 waist. Would a size large be too bulky around the body?

a large may be a little big in the shoulders but the body will probably fit just fine.

Answer:
Hi,
I am the exact same size and often run into the same the large in my opinion is often big looking, I would suggest the medium, unless you have already tried that.

This coat is long enough to cover a sport/suit coat. However, this coat is intended to be worn casually.
