So many gentleman of today are reluctant to purchase a cashmere sweater due to the impression that such sweaters are delicate and fragile and must be treated with kid gloves. This is not so...when it comes to the Brooks Brothers cashmere v-neck sweater. I have owned 12 v-necks, 12 round necks, and 4 of the sleeveless v-neck sweaters for nearly a decade and, with proper care, I expect them to last another 20 years. First of all, I have never had them washed or dry cleaned. I avoid indulging in soup and red wine when I wear them...just as you do with all of your treasured clothing...be it a favorite shirt or tie. When they "pill," just brush them with good brush and with a moderate hand. Generally I perform this ritual twice a year. These sweaters are 3-ply...which means that they are "thicker" than most you can find elsewhere. Thicker is, indeed, better. Secondly, they are made in Scotland. Enough said. Own one...or two. Each year, as the leaves begin to turn...you, too, will check in with our favorite haberdasher to review the newly available colors of these wonderful cashmere v-necks. (It makes for a great hobby!) Then, one day, we will all chant "Yes, I own dozens of them." Happy Autumn to one and all. Off you go!

This sweater is amazing. The cashmere is thick and warm, yet wonderfully soft at the same time. I had quite a lot of sweaters from many different places, even reknowned uk furnishers: this sweater is just the best one by far. The cashmere is thick enough to inspire confidence on a long lasting existence as a favourite sweater and the dark green color has a wonderful shine to it, classical enough yet still joyful.
It is pricey, but definitly worth every penny.
A word of warning: this sweater, without being overly thick, is probably too bulky to be worn under a jacket: my best guest is that the 2 ply sweater would be a better alternative.
