Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Fabric and Classic Styling I don't have a long history with Brooks Brothers, and the closest retailer is an outlet in a city 3 hours away. However, in search of classic shirts decided to order a trio of OCBD's online. In comparison to most of the locally available brands, this shirt is heads and shoulders above them in price, fabric and details. The cloth is a nice, heavy weave. The collar points and roll are nicely done, and they attach to the band before the end of the placket, something I've not seen before. The shirring on the sleeve and button placement on the cuff are nice touches as well. Having seen 'slim' shirts become anything but for my 6'2", 185 lb frame over the last 5 years, I decided to go with the 'Extra Slim Fit' in a 16x35. Collar, shoulders and chest fit very well, but i'll probably have the waist/lower back taken in just a little. I'd not mind an extra inch on the shirt tails, but they stay tucked so no complaints. Compared to fashion-forward brands it's not terribly slim, i'd consider it 'trim' or 'regular', for those of us with flat bellies. I do wish more patterned shirts were available in regular untreated cotton, but Brooks seems to believe the market demands non-iron finishes. Hopefully they don't eliminate 'classic' cotton in the name of progress. I find it feels, ages and looks much nicer. April 19, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Size Up! Shirts shrink considerably. I bought three of these shirts a little over a year ago. They fit well in the body, trim but not super-tight. I'm 5'11" and 170lbs. and the shirts are comfortable and not restricting. The collar is great, although I yearn for the old-school Brooks collar roll. A HUGE problem, however, is that a year in, the sleeves are several inches shorter than they used to be. Unless I roll up my sleeves, they look ridiculous, and when I want to wear a blazer or sport coat, I always reach for a vintage Brooks or J Crew OCBD I thrifted. The neck has tightened up a bit as well. Also, it seems as though Brooks has been skimping on button quality, as two sleeve buttons on different shirts have cracked in half. That said, they wear in really nicely and I wear one almost every day. But I am not a rich man and if I shell out a considerable amount of cash, I expect shirts labeled my size to fit a lot better. Get the shirts, but size up about 2 sizes in the sleeves and a half-size in the neck. March 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by BUY THIS SHIRT I wore this shirt yesterday, I wore one today, and I will wear one tomorrow. That is what I think of this shirt. They are made in America, have an amazing feel, and fit perfectly. I'm glad to say that I own one of these for every day of the week. These are the MOST comfortable shirts I have ever owned. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shirt This is one of the best shirts I have ever owned. Beware, however that the shirt cuff is slightly smaller than what some men might be used to. I am normally a 14.5/33 all day long, but I had to up to a 14.5/34 due to the cuff and shrinkage. Luckily, however, this did the trick and fits me better than any shirt I have ever purchased (including custom made to measure) and feels better too. It's made in America, feels great, inexpensive, classic, and fits perfect. You cant ask for more out of a shirt. My entire shirt wardrobe will eventually consist of this shirt. September 18, 2012

These are the Made in America (North Carolina) ones, and have much heavier oxford fabric. I prefer these.

The difference is in the fabric. These are Brooks Brothers' Supima Cotton (oxford cloth) while the others you mentioned are pinpoint cotton. The fabric on these is heavier, with more of a texture, compared with the smoothness of pinpoint cotton on the others.

I have found that the all cotton shirts seem to be about 1/2" shorter than the non-iron versions. I wear a 35 sleeve in non-iron and a 36 sleeve in the all cotton shirts.

No, it doesn't have a sleeve vent button, but the sleeves are slender enough that the vent between the elbow and the cuff doesn't open or pucker unattractively. Even with the cuff unbuttoned, the sleeve stays together nicely.

They're pretty long and meant ot be worn tucked, you can always have them shortened to wear them untucked but as is it may look weird.

Being a slightly thicker fabric (oxford) it does a better job of holding off the wrinkles, but one of the charms of the classic oxford is the slightly unstructured look of it. It irons easily and isn't that bad even coming out of the dryer.

Cotton shirts will wrinkle a bit when worn, and there is no difficulty in ironing out the wrinkles. A dependable steamer or functional iron will remove wrinkles, and give your shirt a pristine crisp look.

Great question, Mitchell! The shirt has a lighter collar interlining- it's not fused. I know because the interlining shrank after more than 10 commercial washings. It contract the collar about 1/2" and wrinkled the bottom (inside) layer of the collar. My cleaners realized the problem and "wet blocked" (stretched) the lining and collar back before finish pressing it. I'd suggest buying 1/2" larger and not worrying about the problem. The shirts fit well and finish up great.

After I read review of this shirts, many people told this oxford shirts are shrunk about 1 inches..

I have 5 of these shirts, and I've experienced little shrinkage. The slim fit cuffs are narrow enough that you'd be fine to order an extra inch in the sleeve and still not have the cuffs appear too long. BTW, I don't put my shirts in the dryer.
