Best value, quality & color selection suede buck I've comparison shopped different colored suede buck shoes and the BB version is clearly the best quality and value on the market. The red brick soles are superior looking to the plantation crepe rubber or gum soles that many of the competitors sell at 1.5x - 2x the price of BB. Also, no one else has the wide selection of color variations offered by BB. I first puchased the traditional tan version a few years ago, and just acquired the blue color. I like these so much, I'm next going to buy the grey and / or light blue. This shoe is very comfortable and cleans up quickly with a brushing if needed. The colored versions offered this spring add excitment to my waredrobe and spruce up whatever I'm wearing. May 19, 2012

For Bucks, shop here The first time I wore the light blue Bucks I was overwhelmed with compliments from friends and total strangers. These spring color Bucks have a smoother finish than the standard "fuzzy" texture of the Classic Bucks colors offered by Brooks Brothers, but like the classics they are sharp looking, sturdy and comfortable. I wouldn't suggest wearing these shoes without socks...but rather with a pair of socks that are somewhat carefree, whimsical and colorful , but will not detract attention from the classic look of the "white buck." Yes, you could wear them without socks...but they are not docksiders, penny loafers or Gucci Loafers...and they truly do deserve the respect that only those of us who are far younger than these classic summer shoes (Circa 1930) can provide ...by properly accessorizing them with ankle wear (how's that for a term!) that compliments without upstaging them in any manner . It is the right thing to do...and will certainly intimate anyone who suggests otherwise. I suggest a pair of pastel socks...a pair of cotton argyles...or a bright color sock that blends with your shirt or summer sweater is truly the way to go. Now, please enjoy your day, have gin & tonic, show off the watchband which should match or compliment your socks, and propose toast to your fan and advisor; PTD47. Summer is over...no more white shoes...please keep this advice for Memorial Day, 2013....and have a wonderful Winter Holiday Season!

A UK 7D is usually a US 7.5E - 8E

I am a US 10EE and I had to stretch mine, which were much too narrow for me.

Luckily they stretched very successfully after a week or two on a size 11E shoe tree, but I imagine a shoe stretcher would work better.

We do not have the bucks in white this season. However, we do have Peal and Co, Pebble Grain Wing Tip and Alqoquin Nubucks in white.

I have a pair of Brooks Brothers white bucks and have found it impossible to replace a worn red crepe sole with a similar profile sole. My local BB referred me to a reputable local shoe repair shop, but I had to compromise on a sole with a different profile.

Caring for your bucks.

Traditionally bucks have been a spring and summer shoe. Although with new colors in suede, you can certainly push things a bit until the weather gets nasty. If your white bucks start looking a bit scuffed and dirty you can give them new life with a little powder (give the Internet a search, you’ll want a 4-piece kit that includes a suede brush, buck eraser, powder, and buck bag). Yes, it sounds like something your grandmother would do, but it’s a good way to give your shoes some new life.

I am very pleased with the support this shoe provide....no, it's not like a wing-tip; tied tightly....but it's absolutely excellent for a loafer. Go to a Brooks Brothers site and try on a few pairs in different sizes ...once you find the perfect match for your feet and needs, believe you will be pleased. Enjoy your day.

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Our Classic Bucks are quintessentially Brooks Brothers, we very much enjoy them and are certain you will enjoy the red or light blue ones as well. Either may be paired with colored (or khaki) chinos for a casual statement or with a dark suit or dress trousers for a burst of color. We like to see them paired with our Vintage Chinos- they are offered in multiple colors and fits (Clark, Milano, Hudson, Thompson and Elliot).
