Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Classic Penny Loafer These shoes have a great quality and appearance. The only thing I had a problem with was sizing. I wanted an 11.5 in burgundy but they only had a tan in 11.5 which fit perfect. I had them order me the burgundy and when it came in it felt like a 12. I noticed that the tan and burgundy shoes were made in different countries and that may account for the different sizing. I ended up buying an 11 and having them stretched as the 11.5 was way too big for me. Otherwise, I would give this shoe 5 stars. April 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by An American Classic Despite the fact that these are not made in the USA this style is an American Classic. Bass weejuns were my favorites but then they changed their model. This substitutes very well for the original weejuns. Look and fit very well. This along with the tassel loafer are the great classic American shoes. look great with slacks, jeans and even bermudas. Rated 3 out of 5 by not good for flat feet these are great shoes and a classic but if like me you have flat feet (no arch at all in my case!) avoid these as there is zero built in arch support. I wear them anyway but my "arch collapses the shoe righ in at the inside and spoils the look, epscially if being worh with narrow trousers to show off the shoe! January 25, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A lovely shoe This is the second pair I've purchased and am very pleased with them. The brown color is unique and a nice change from the burgundy that I usually wear. The contrasting off white stitching gives a nice look for wearing with casual pants. Very comfortable, great construction, look great. December 29, 2010
Rated 2 out of 5 Returned them The shoes were extremely uncomfortable and fit weird. Don't buy them. After returning them i bought ones extremely similar (and cheaper) that are really comfortable from cole haan. Love bb but was disappointed with this product June 15, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by If you liked Weejuns, you wii love these January 22, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by nice shoe have british tan, nice shoe, but weats a little faster than i thought....expected a little better quality but looks nice and is comfortable...didnt even need to break in December 11, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Classic and comfortable. I have a high instep, and as such I've found it difficult to find a penny loafer that I can wear. These took a little wearing to break in, but I'm please with both the look (classic) and the fit (comfortable). This is my first pair of Brooks Brothers shoes and I took a half size smaller than I normally buy. April 26, 2010

Answer:
This is a Classic Pennyloafer. By definition all pennyloafers are casual as compared to a lace up oxford shoe. That does not mean people don't wear pennyloafers with suits and sports coats.

Someone else had commented they're not easily resoled--which means they're not Goodyear-welted, I gather.

Is the entire upper made from full grain leather? is some portion corrected grain? If so, which parts? Who is the manufacturer?

Answer:
The grain is buffed down to create a flat smooth base for the high gloss finish that the loafer requires. Also, the leather is full grain.
