Rated 4 out of 5 by It's the Fit, Stupid! After about 20 years I returned to the classic Cordovan BroBro Tassel Loafer, having previously switched to tie shoes and then back to loafers once business casual became de riguer at my employer. In fact, I probably still have a pair of old BB Cordovans circa 1985 somewhere in the back of my closet. When I made the decision to trade-up from my usual Johnston & Murphy's purchased at Woodbury Commons, I first stopped off at the flagship Madison Avenue store to make sure I purchased the proper size. The clerk measured my foot using the old-fashioned foot measuring device, and told me what I needed. The first time I wore my new Cordovans on the streets of Manhattan, they seemed too loose and big. I wore them to work for a week, and on my way home one night I returned to the Madison Avenue store to see what could be done to "tighten them up." A different clerk inserted felt-like pads on the undersides of the front "tongues" and that seemed to help quite a bit... at least I knew they wouldn't fall off if I had to run across the street to avoid being hit by a bus. I also bought a pair of the calfskin version of these shoes for about $200 less. in all honesty, the calfskin pair in the same size feels and fits better than the Cordovan. Oh well, maybe when I buy my next pair of Cordovan Tassel Loafers in 2030 I'll go with a half-size smaller or one size narrower... maybe one of each! For the time being, I'm wearing Gold Toe Fluffies crew socks to take up the slack in my Bro Bro Cordovans. October 9, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite Loved these from the first time I saw them on the website but wasn't sure of the sizing. After I purchased the penny loafers from BB, I knew exactly what size I need. The style is classic and timeless. Every detail is well designed and beautifully executed. Compare with Alden tassel loafers, these have a very nice touch at the heel, and I love the look. The craftsmanship is benchmark and you wont find any flaw even if you look under microscope. These are true masterpiece. The leather is soft and supple, very nice to the touch and feel. That is what I expected and these will not disappointing. I wore them a few times and they were comfortable from the day one. Did not need break in for me. The black version is next. April 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cordovan loafers These loafers are true classic and are made by people who claim they invented them. Well, may be, but the fact is these are one of my best loafers and I have more than a dozen of loafer style shoes in my closet. Compare to it's Alden brother, it has a nice detail at the heel added. The shell cordovan used for these is simply flawless and the color is uniform throughout both shoes and shade matched on both, left and right. Of course, the Horween shell cordovan used here for it's impeccable reputation and once again proves it's supremacy. The craftsmanship is top notch. This is my third pair of BB loafers, all are on Aberdeen last and I knew I have to buy a half size down from my regular size. They fit very comfortably and I can wear them all day long indoor or outdoor, even for long walks. Bravo again, Brooks Brothers, you never disappoint. April 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Classic I must have owned ten pairs of these shoes through the years. That should say how much I like them. They are nicer than the Alden version because of the extra stitching at the heel. I go down half a size from my normal tie-shoe size. Plus they can be restored to as good as new at the Alden factory. Rated 5 out of 5 by Simply The Best Shoes I have been wearing Brooks tassel loafers for many years in leather and brown suede. I just discovered the wonders of shell cordovan. Its almost a misnomer using tje word shell. The are slightly hard to the touch in the store and thats why I didn't buy them I was afraid they would be too stiff. Just the opposite. When you wear them the cordovan leather is softer, more comfortable and moldsw to your feet giving you a really superior fit. The styling is perfect. I have tassel loafer from other companies, including English manufactures but these are the best. March 7, 2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great shoes, difficult fit I have a number of pairs of cordovan shoes. These are my favoraite to look at, but, unfortunately, the fit is not good. The cordovan version seems to run wider than the calfskin version, and over time they stretch out even more. Thus, depite the cost, these shoes end up stuffed in the back of my closet. My advice would be to purchase a width narrower than normal. They will be tight at first but will stretch to fit over time. I wish I could afford to buy another, narrower pair. June 23, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by best Preppy Shoe, still best yep, I'm 40. this will be my third pair of the shoe I can't seem to live without. goes with everything from shorts and t-shirt to suit. Still made well too. January 27, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cordovan Tassel Loafer A dressier version of the Cordovan Penny Loafer. Nothing can compare to the beauty of cordovan leather. October 3, 2009

Answer:
They will stretch but not much, probably 8D is a best choice because they are loafers, so they wont fall from your feet.

Answer:
Shell cordovan leather does stretch over time. I wear those shoes myself and size down 1/2 compared to my norma tie-shoe size. I don't want a loafer slipping around on my foot
