Rated 5 out of 5 by Rolly You MUST purchase these top notch cordovan shoes !
These Brooks Brothers Cordovan shoes are simply the #1 best value on the market. Even though they are more expensive, in my experience the cordovan horsehide leather will last 2-3 times longer than calfskin. Hence, the shoes are a great value since you'll spend less in the long run on replacement shoes. Besides being very durable, the leather is very supple, and conforms nicely to the shape of your feet for an extremely comfortable fit. Also the sheen of the leather is amazing. You can't go wrong with a pair of these shoes!

The shoe I wanted in college, and at long last actually own. Worth the wait.

Fit is right on with other American-made shoes. Good room in the toebox and just snug enough to ensure the leather will mold to my foot. Excellent quality leather and sturdy but not too clunky sole. Burgundy color goes great with my khakis and jeans. Strongly recommend.

Made of the best material on Earth (Shell Cordovan), these shoes are the pinnacle example of the classic Penny loafer. This shoe designed by Alden is perfect, and the Brooks Brothers version has the one improvement that could be made to the Alden original: They are unlined. They breathe wonderfully as a result, but moreover, they mold to your foot, and weigh next to nothing. BRAVO!

I had my last pair for twenty-seven years. Yes; you read that right. And the only reason they're not here is because I didn't take excellent care of them (re-soling them as soon as the sole began to deteriorate). Now it's time for my second pair (I'm 60 yrs old). The best cordovan loafers in the country. And the greatest looking, too. With or without socks, they are so comfortable.

I have tried lots of shoes at this price range and above. It all starts with the last. This shoe is slightly wider in the forefoot than the Alden Cordovan loafer. It is also quite a bit lighter without giving up durability. There is a good balance in terms of breathability and protection. Unlike Italian loafers, you will not feel the cold sidewalk through the soles. The shoe takes a moderate amount of breaking in, but once broken in, so long as it is the right last for your foot, it is an absolute pleasure to wear. I walk several miles per day around my city and these shoes show little wear in the sole and have held up unlike any shoe this comfortable that I have worn. If the Alden Cordovan is too narrow in the forefoot, this shoe will fit you wonderfully.

I have been wearing these shoes (not the same pair) since the mid 1980's. They are great-- this Brooks version of the Alden shoe is unlined, which makes them very soft and cool. The Van last runs big. I go down a full size; most just go down half a size. Plus now there are some available in whiskey shell from the Madison Ave. store.

These are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever purchased. I found the shoes to run approximately a half size large. The vamp of the shoe can be a bit tight at first but after a few wearings, molds to your foot. I only wish Brooks Brothers carried these shoes in additional colors of shell cordovan!
