Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 38 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Size Up! Shirts shrink considerably. I bought three of these shirts a little over a year ago. They fit well in the body, trim but not super-tight. I'm 5'11" and 170lbs. and the shirts are comfortable and not restricting. The collar is great, although I yearn for the old-school Brooks collar roll. A HUGE problem, however, is that a year in, the sleeves are several inches shorter than they used to be. Unless I roll up my sleeves, they look ridiculous, and when I want to wear a blazer or sport coat, I always reach for a vintage Brooks or J Crew OCBD I thrifted. The neck has tightened up a bit as well. Also, it seems as though Brooks has been skimping on button quality, as two sleeve buttons on different shirts have cracked in half. That said, they wear in really nicely and I wear one almost every day. But I am not a rich man and if I shell out a considerable amount of cash, I expect shirts labeled my size to fit a lot better. Get the shirts, but size up about 2 sizes in the sleeves and a half-size in the neck. March 11, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by close but still major problems General description of myself: 5'9" 160 lbs slightly broader than average shoulders longer torso than average thin (non-overweight, non-athletic) What's right with the shirt: --Doesn't bunch up and blouse --Flattering cut overall --Fabric quality is excellent What's wrong: --Shoulders are narrower than most other OTR dress shirts --Arm holes are uncomfortably high --Forearms are so tight you have to roll up the sleeves before putting the shirt on --Would be better if the length were shorter -- doesn't look good untucked as is Because of the above problems, this shirt is continuously uncomfortable -- I can feel that I'm wearing it, especially in the shoulders and armpits. It looks great for sure -- 90% of the fit is the best fit I've ever had, but that remaining 10% means there's a lot of room for improvement, at least for somebody with my body type. If you fit my description, I can not fully endorse this shirt. If narrow shoulder and high arm holes would not be a problem for you, though, there's a good chance this could be just what you're looking for. August 5, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Will shrink. Be careful. Bought 3 of these shirts and got ONE use out of each of them as they shrank considerably. When I purchased them I could easily slip 2 fingers between the collar and my neck with the top button fastened. After 1 wash with cold water followed by hang drying, I can no longer even button the top button. Why 4 stars and not 1? It's still a great shirt. Sadly, I just can't wear it. November 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I bought this shirt because I wanted to try an original BB OCBD shirt, and because I wanted a shirt made in the USA. The shirt is well made and the material is of a good quality and is much thicker than the non-iron shirts I am used to. I like the quality and the fit, but I am disappointed that it has a box pleat. I think this shirt would be better without the pleat. April 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Made in USA dress shirts I recently purchased 6 of the Extra Slim Cut Made In USA version Oxford dress shirts. I have a muscular build so I like to have my shirts feel fitted (not blousy). These shirts did not disappoint. The fit was mostly what I was looking for, although I did have the in-house tailor make some minor alternations in sleeve length, and just a tiny bit more out of the waist. I purposely sought out US-made dress shirts (not easy to find) and feel like these are outstanding quality for a very reasonable price. I wish Brooks Brothers would make more of its shirts in the United States. February 21, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not that slim I had to get it tailored down an inch at the chest and waist. I'm 5'11" and 140 pounds. It's slimmer than the rest but not as slim as I imagined February 9, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too slim I am 6ft 4 and wear a 15 1/2 36. I am tall but slender and like form fitting shirts. I ordered these because BB usually makes shirts so baggy they look like blouses and was hoping to avoid tailoring. However, these shirts were too tight in the chest and arms. The second button below the collar was holding on for dear life. The body was a good fit, so maybe if you order a little larger neck size this would work. I am going to try the slim fit. April 20, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Too Tight For A Man I can't see these shirts fitting any grown man no matter how slim he is. March 20, 2011

Answer:
These are the Made in America (North Carolina) ones, and have much heavier oxford fabric. I prefer these.

Answer:
The difference is in the fabric. These are Brooks Brothers' Supima Cotton (oxford cloth) while the others you mentioned are pinpoint cotton. The fabric on these is heavier, with more of a texture, compared with the smoothness of pinpoint cotton on the others.

Answer:
The Original Polo features a button down collar, an option considered more informal, and more American in style and aesthetic. The dress shirt features a spread collar, considered a less casual option.

I noticed that the shirt says it is made of Supima cotton, which, by definition, is pima cotton from the United States. However, in the rest of the product description, it says "made in the USA of imported fabric." So is the material from the USA or is it imported (should not be considered Supima cotton)?

Answer:
Hello sir, excellent question. Our Supima crop is indeed grown in the southwest United States but it is sent to Japan where it is woven into the fabric used to craft the shirts, the assembly of which takes place in our very own Garland, North Carolina factory.

We are quite proud of our commitment to the Made in America initiative and are grateful for your interest as well.

Kind regards,
Brooks Brothers

Answer:
I have found that the all cotton shirts seem to be about 1/2" shorter than the non-iron versions. I wear a 35 sleeve in non-iron and a 36 sleeve in the all cotton shirts.

Answer:
No, it doesn't have a sleeve vent button, but the sleeves are slender enough that the vent between the elbow and the cuff doesn't open or pucker unattractively. Even with the cuff unbuttoned, the sleeve stays together nicely.

Answer:
Being a slightly thicker fabric (oxford) it does a better job of holding off the wrinkles, but one of the charms of the classic oxford is the slightly unstructured look of it. It irons easily and isn't that bad even coming out of the dryer.

Cotton shirts will wrinkle a bit when worn, and there is no difficulty in ironing out the wrinkles. A dependable steamer or functional iron will remove wrinkles, and give your shirt a pristine crisp look.

Answer:
Great question, Mitchell! The shirt has a lighter collar interlining- it's not fused. I know because the interlining shrank after more than 10 commercial washings. It contract the collar about 1/2" and wrinkled the bottom (inside) layer of the collar. My cleaners realized the problem and "wet blocked" (stretched) the lining and collar back before finish pressing it. I'd suggest buying 1/2" larger and not worrying about the problem. The shirts fit well and finish up great.

Answer:
I have 5 of these shirts, and I've experienced little shrinkage. The slim fit cuffs are narrow enough that you'd be fine to order an extra inch in the sleeve and still not have the cuffs appear too long. BTW, I don't put my shirts in the dryer.
