Fitzgerald Fit Bedford Cord Suit 4 5 1 1
Uncommon material, common problems The fabric is a nice, thick Bedford Cord with very fine ridges. Although the product page says "blue," I would describe it really as a navy. The picture portrays a lighter color than the one I purchased. The quality is there, but the overall fit and appearance aren't. The suit suffers from the same problems as most cotton jackets in that it wrinkles very easily and does not drape well. I considered cuffing the pants but decided against it in the end. My primary problem with the pants is that they never break properly and usually sit wrinkled and with a break below the knee, instead of near the bottom (and I ask for little to no break on my pants). The fabric is also a lint machine. This suit is my first attempt at Bedford Cord, so it's probably just the nature of the material. I wish Brooks Brothers would make a suit with Milano pants and an unconstructed Fitzgerald jacket. If only. That might fix the problems I've had with the break on Fitzgerald pants. I would submit to you that this suit is best worn without a tie in an informal environment where a cultivated semi-wrinkled look is called for. April 11, 2012

Answer:
The "drop" (the difference in size number between coat and pants) is usually 6, so a 40 Long suit would include size 34 pants.

Are the jacket and trousers lined our unlined? Would it be possible to launder this suit or would it have to be dry-cleaned? Thank you.
