Very elegant and beautiful cut. I own 4 of these pumps, this pair in black, black patent, black leather, and nude patent. I always get compliments because of the gorgeous shape of the shoes! Plus, the platform gives it extra cushioning. The image online doesn't do justice for this pair of shoes. The actual black is much darker and more elegant. The black patent version is great for going out and is the "fun pair." I would size down in these they run half a size too big. I usually wear 6.5 but sized down to 6 for these so they wouldn't slip off. The shape of the platform pumps at Brooks Brothers is very versatile -- it's wearable to work and it's cute. I also own both pairs of the platform pump boots, which have the same shape in the shoe and arch. In addition, the heel is the perfect size. It's skinny but not so skinny that you feel like you will topple over. These are some of my most stable shoes and I can take the stairs, walking up and down hills, and walk at a fairly rapid pace in them. Just make sure they are sized correctly, or slightly tighter since the heel height is pretty high! The only drawback is the leather sole. I had to get a rubber sold put on it as soon as I wore them outside on the pavement because they got scratched up. I usually wear them just in the office, and if you do that, then replacing the sole with a rubber one isn't as necessary -- you just can't walk outside on the pavement for very long and not expect the sole to be scratched up. Beautiful, well-made shoes These shoes are beautiful and well-made! I love the calf-hair and clean lines. The heel is a bit higher than I am used to, but comfortable nonetheless. They are a bit stiff on first wearing, but I can see them stretching/conforming a bit more over time. Thanks for a beautiful product Brooks Brothers. January 26, 2013
beautiful, comfortable shoe--but big!!! this shoe runs large--the leather seems to bend funny when you walk, making the shoe slip off my foot. they don't have a size smaller, so i will use heel grips and hope that corrects the issue. they are comfortable while standing January 18, 2013
