If you must carry a backpack, you can't get much better than this. The leather is very fine and the hardware is excellent and expensive feeling. The canvas, too, feels expensive and sturdy. Backpacks are wonderfully useful, much more so than a briefcase, for instance, but most are a bit juvenile. This one is not. It fits perfectly into the Black Fleece esthetic. While exploring NYC I carry inside this pack a Black Fleece folding umbrella, a 17" macbook pro, an ipad, ipod, sweater, camera and a few other odds and ends and the backpack is well-balanced and still looks a bit sartorial.
