Why fix something that isn't broken? Before buying the pants, I asked the sales-person at the store about the recent complaints about how the new Madison cuts were fitting. She told me that the sizes had been changed back to the original recently due to complaints, so I bought a couple to replace ones that I had happily worn for a few years. I guess I should only blame myself for buying them without trying them on, because now I realize that these pants simply don't fit me anymore. It's such a shame.... May 13, 2013

Very Disappointed I have been a loyal BB client for years, however, with the recent changes to the cut and fit of your dress-style trousers this will no longer be the case. I am very disappointed that BB would move in this direction and force loyal clients to shop elsewhere. January 10, 2013

These are incredibly tight around the waist I had gift cards and I needed some new work pants, otherwise I wouldn't have bought these. I have a lot of BB shirts, but these are my first BB pants, and as everyone else has pointed out, they fit very tight around the waist/crotch. I had to buy a 35x32 (thankfully I tried these on in the store so I could find the right size). I usually wear 33-34 waist and a 33-34 length, so the sizing here is way off, and I was so relieved to see other people thought these were tight. I have 2 Calvin Klein slim fit suits with 34" waist pants that on me have a little extra room. Likewise, I have a pair of Bowery pants from J. Crew (those are super comfy by the way) that are a little loose with a 34" waist. It's not a big deal to have to buy a 35" waist from BB, but it seems like the sizing is way off, so I wouldn't buy them without trying them on. Also thanks for making me think I'd got fat over the holidays BB, at least you got me going to the gym. January 6, 2013

TERRIBLE! Fits like low rise jeans. Why change? I have been wearing the "traditional cut" Brooks Gabardine trousers for as long as I can remember #20+ years#. However, when I went to replace some of my aging pants, I was shocked to discover the radical change in the cut and fit. I purchased 12 pairs #yes, 12!# to replace my old Brooks trousers. I ordered them in the same size I used to wear, but found that they were incredibly tight, with no room in the thighs and seat. So, I returned all 12, and bought another 12 pairs that were 2 inches wider to get something even close to fitting. Well, the waist is a bit better, but the new low rise cut is really uncomfortable and extremely tight in the thigh and seat area. The trousers just don't fit right with the new low rise profile. What was Brooks thinking when they re-designed this classic cut? I read a recent article in the WSJ where Brooks discussed making all of their cuts more tailored. Why? I suspect that your average customer is not looking for trousers that complement their skinny jeans collection! Another note: I noticed that production has shifted to Thailand. Long-time Brooks customers #like me!# will recall that up until several years ago, all of these trousers were made in Canada. I have noticed that the quality of the wool has declined markedly. With the Canadian Gabardines, I was able to go an entire day in the office without noticing any real wrinkles in the seat area. With the new low-quality Thailand material, after 1-2 hours the pants are so wrinkled that it is embarassing. I am now incented, for the first time in 30 years of shopping at Brooks, to seek out a new retailed who better understands their customer for my pants, suits, shirts, etc. This was a very poor business decision by somebody at Brooks, and given all the negative comments I see here, I think there is wide agreement. If I ran the company, somebody would be fired. As an executive myself, I would love to hear a response from senior management at Brooks regarding their decision and their apparent disregard of customer feedback. I'd be happy to personally speak with your senior management, if possible. December 25, 2012
