Rated 4 out of 5 by Great value, but why change the fit? This used to be a great suit. All of the suits in my closet are BB Madison Fit, but now the same suits in the store fit completely differently. The rise on the pants has been shortened, which changes the fit and feel of the pants completely. The jackets have also been changed most noticeably with higher armholes. BB, if you want to change something about your suits, add some new patterns, styles or details, but please stop changing the fit of suits, pants and jackets, that your customers have been buying for years and have come to rely upon. Rated 5 out of 5 by Quintessential American styling It is a testament to BB that they can engineer three great cuts in their 1818 line with such consistent quality. I own several Madison suits and like to alternate them with the slimmer fitting Fitzgerald. The fabrics are excellent. The Saxxon wool versions (see elsewhere) are stunning. If you prefer a looser fit, you cannot go wrong with the Madison. December 19, 2010
Rated 1 out of 5 by Change of Fit Extremely disappointed for the first time with BB. I purchased a 42s Madison Fit Grey Pinstripe suit and the suit will not fit me, even though I wear a 42s BB Madison Fit suit every day to the office. BB has obviously changed the fit of these suits. The consistency of the cut and fit of BB suits is what kept me a loyal customer for years. I'm afraid I will now have to look elsewhere. February 19, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Madison Review I have purchased the Madison cut over the years and it appears that the vendor has timmed up the fit. I have always had goodluck with a 45R and now I had to go up to 46R. In doing so, the waist was not a good fit and the tailoring became much more complex than it needed to be and as a result I will not, I regret, purchase the BB label again. April 5, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by new mens 1818 madison I have an athletic build, so the madison is the only that works for me. Well made suit, much attention to detail. Considerably Less expensive than the custom made suits. If you have a good tailor(the tailor on Newburry St., Boston is very skilled) then its worth it even with alterations. I'd definitely buy another January 27, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid (Pen-Stripe) Suit The suit is excellent, fit/value/appearance. Even better was the service I received. October 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great suit, great value! For my first suit from BB, going conservative was a good choice. The Madison 1818 is the full, original cut (from what I was told) by BB. I got the navy; clearly a classic. I went with this particular one (the double button) because it came with the pleated pants. The tailor at my BB shop did a great job finalizing the suit to make it fit me perfectly. If I knew any better, I would have requested the tailor for functional sleeve buttons. In terms of the fabric, the texture and look didn't stand out as high quality wool, but it didn't say it was a blend of cheap wool. I think the suit is of great value. Something like this from a European brand would cost almost 2~3 times. If you are looking for a classic, quality suit; or if for a first time BB suit--like myself, I'd recommend starting from the 1818 Madison line. February 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb Superior material, stunning appearance, and comfortable fit, in spite of my not entirely Olympian physique. It's why it's my 5th Madison suit in less than a year. February 8, 2012
