Looks great, but be sure the pants fit This suit looks great, and the Saxxon wool is very nice. However, when I purchased the suit, the 38 waist pants were too tight. (This has never been an issue in the past; I own two other BB suits, both 38 waist and in a slimmer cut than the Madison, and did not need to alter the waits.) After one alteration, the pants still would not even button up. I had them altered again, and although they now fit, they are still snug. Also, the pants look obviously over-altered. The two back belt loops are very far apart, etc. I still wear the suit, but only on occasions where I will be wearing my jacket. My advice: be sure the pants fit before alterations. If my pants had fit, then I would definitely recommend this product. January 2, 2013
Disappointed I had very high hopes when I purchased this suit but, having worn it a couple of times I am extremely disappointed with the fit. I'm generally a perfect 44L but had to move up to a 46L at Brooks Brothers to get the jacket to fit correctly. The tailor assured me they could "take care of" the trousers to get the fit just right but the results were a disaster. I've not got a suit that looks like it was cut down to fit. The pants are WAY too baggy the seat is uneven and, while the jacket fits well through the shoulders it is clearly way to big through the waist. At this point I feel like I've gotten better fit and comparable quality elsewhere for less money. March 21, 2012
Very Sharp Suit I'm a major fan of the Madison cut and the overall quality of the purchasing experience. From the very helpful suggestions and humor of my regular salesman to the perfect fit provided by the staff tailor, this suit will make either a great foundation piece for the starting executive's wardrobe, or a great extension to the established veteran. The BB standard continues Since the mid- 70's I have been a customer of BB. There was a time where I would go no where else, then for a period the product line was lacking, That all changed when Mr. DelVecchio took control of the label. Thank you for a great product t a good price. I recently bought a couple a of suits, shirts and ties which I am thoroughly pleased. March 26, 2011

I see from the sizing guide the slacks that go with a 50L jacket are 45 waist. Is there a way to get a smaller waist? In my experience, any time I buy a suit with a much larger size waist than mine, the tailoring looks extremely poor. Too much to cut down. If it's not available, as you have on the essentials, and Stretch products, then I'll not be able to go forward with a purchase of the 1818's.

Unfortunately, we cannot separate our suits because they are nested. This means that the suit jacket and trousers are a set. We understand your dilemma, with wanting to avoid the excess tailoring on your suit trousers. We have two viable options that may be the remedy to your situation. The first option is Brooksease, a collection of suit jackets and trousers sold separately. However, it is limited to two colors navy and grey. The second option is our Made to Measure Program.
