Wonderful Suit That Breaks The "Boxy Fit" Mold
The cut of Brooks Brothers suits has often been described as "boxy". As such, skinny men can look like they're wearing tents without a good bit of tailoring. As a true 5' 8" 140 lb 36S, I have been looking for a truly slim-fitting suit that would look great off the rack and need minimal tailoring. After hearing about the Milano, I decided to take the plunge.
Impressed doesn't begin to describe how I felt when first trying it on. The lines are clean, the jacket has a really nice taper and fits snug around my torso, the arm holes are high and the sleeves skinny, the jacket is stylishly short but not so much that one couldn't wear it to a more formal event (e.g. job interview), the trousers are slim-fitting with a slightly lower rise. In all, this thing looks like it was made for me.
All of this with me looking in the mirror directly after pulling it out of it's packaging, i.e. without having gone to a tailor. I literally only needed the tailor to do two things: Sew buttons on the sleeves (they come unfinished), and hem the trousers. That's it. I own another very nice suit and quite a few sport coats, and this is the *only* piece that did not require significant tailoring.
To say I am pleased with this suit would be an understatement. After years of trying to find that one particular line of suits that fits me beautifully off the rack, this is it. Quality construction, great cut, wonderful fabric, at a decent price. I really don't see how you can go wrong.

I would like to order this suit, but I only see an option to choose the jacket size. I am 6'5" and wear a 44XL jacket size, but I have a slim waist and wear a 33 X 34 pant size. How do I choose a trouser size after selecting the jacket size?

Answer:
Yeah, the Milano suits will have a six inch drop but these sizes are SMALLLLL. Your best bet is to go to your local retail store and try on a 44 L Milano. The tailor will fix the extra fabric for you.1 year, 10 months ago

Answer:
Look first for a slim fitting suit line. By design, slim fitting suits are paired with smaller waist trousers. An expert tailor will take care of the rest. If you're very athletic, make sure the tailor puts in a trouser guard at the crotch so your pants last longer.2 years, 1 month ago

Answer:
Kind of a bummer, but most BB suits come with what's called a six inch drop. That means that the waist of the pants is six inches smaller than the number of the jacket (i.e. a size 44L jacket comes with size 38L pants). However, I am not certain, but I believe I have read that the Milano has a seven inch drop, which would put the pants at 37L.Made to Measure might be the best bet for a man with a large difference in shoulder and waist size.
