I have read advice on this site that some chinos cannot be taken in, either because they have a one-piece waistband or because of the fabric treatment. Please could you let me know whether these pants could be altered from a 30" to a 28" waist. If not, is there another model that allows this alteration.
Thank you

Answer:
Hello sir, thank you for your inquiry. Our Milano Garment-Dyed Twill Chinos should only be altered at the cuffs and not along the waist. If you chose to bring the waist from a 30 to a 28, the construction of the legs and seat would be disproportionate to the rest of the garment. You might want to consider a pair of trousers from our Red Fleece line, which is updated to a more contemporary, trim fit. As of now, there are a few with a size 29 waist that are available in assorted colors. Type MR00185 into the empty search field at the top right of any page on BrooksBrothers.com and you will find a pair of trousers that may just work for your needs, the fit is indeed slimmer and size 29 waist might do the trick. We do hope this information is helpful.
Kind regards,
Brooks Brothers

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Our Milano Garment-Dyed Twill Chinos are a common offering at Brooks Brothers. They are indeed lightweight and acceptable for both warm and brisk weather. Unfortunately, without knowing which pants you purchased in the summer, we are unable to say for certainty if these chinos above are thicker. Please call Customer Service at 800.274.1815 or email service@brooksbrothers.com when you have this information readily available and a representative will hopefully be able to determine which trousers you have previously purchased.
Warmest regards,
Brooks Brothers

I ask because the BLUE color listed for this item looks more like Navy Blue, whereas I am looking for a slightly brighter shade of blue. The color labels used appear to vary across different items so I wanted to clarify. Thanks!

Hello Sir,Many thanks for your inquiry. This is our version of true blue, our navy blue is much darker. If you want a lighter blue we suggest our Red Fleece slim-fit chinos in Mazorie blue (MR00185).
I hope this was of service to you and have a great day.
Kind regards,
