Good quality fabric, but sloppy fit
I bought two Milano suits recently, which Brooks Brothers bills as "our most narrow and trim expression," featuring, "our trimmest plain-front trousers." I wish it were true. The fabric and construction are excellent, to be sure. It's a substantial, quality suit. But the fit is downright sloppy. I'm slim, though not skinny. And I normally wear a trim, but not skinny suit. Yet the trousers on the Milano suit fit like stovepipes. The jacket is too long. It's as if I'm a kid wearing my Dad's suit. It's disappointing, frankly. I'll be returning to my regular brand.

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Our Milano Navy Solid 1818 Suit is crafted using half-canvas construction. In fact, all of our 1818 suit collection is crafted as such, regardless of the fit (Milano, Fitzgerald, Regent and Madison). We do hope this information is helpful.
Kind regards,

I plan on ordering a Milano fit suit.
In the Regent fit, 40R was a perfect fit on the shoulders but too long in the sleeve(and back length) - by about an inch(or an inch and a half).
In the Milano fit, should I go for a 40 R or a 40 S ?
I'm in Australia at the moment, going to a BB store and trying it on won't be doable.
Thanks for any and all advice.

Answer:
There is a significant difference between the Regent and Milano fit suits. It is difficult to make a credible suggestion with the limited information provided. However, if you are a 40 Regular in Regent, then perhaps a 42 Regular in the Milano cut might be suitable. Also, double check to see if you are a Regular or Short in tailored clothing. If you are a Regular, the sleeves can be altered to your specification. The size.
Suits are sized by combining your jacket measurement with a size category. These categories are Short, Regular, Long, and Extra Long. Generally, this breaks down by height as follows:
Short – Up to 5’9″
Regular – 5’10″ to 6′
Long – 6′ to 6’4″
Extra Long – 6’4″ and up

Hi,
I just bought a suit at a Brooks Brothers branch in London. There was no label on the cuff and inside the jacket, there's only a Brooks Brothers logo in blue and gold trim. There's a "Made in Italy" label up top. It's a fairly closely-cut three-button roll 2 suit, with normal-sized lapels, side vents, soft shoulders, and a curved, barchetta-style breast pocket. The salesman told me it was a Milano, but I haven't found it anywhere on your site. Do you have any idea which Brooks Brothers line would have this kind of suit?
Thanks!

Answer:
Hello, thank you for your inquiry. How wonderful it is to here that you stopped into our London store. We do hope you enjoyed your visit. It does sound as though you purchased a suit in our Milano fit, since you've noted it is closely-cut. We have four fits for our suits at Brooks Brothers: Milano, Regent, Fitzgerald and Madison... with Milano being our trimmest and Madison our most generous. In order to browse our selection of Milano fit suits, simply hover over "Men" at the main navigation above each page and you will then select "Suits." From there, you may utilize the filter at the left side of the page to refine your search by fit, here you will select Milano. Hopefully from there you will find the suit you purchased in London. It is suprising that the fit is not embroidered below Brooks Brothers at the left chest pocket at the interior. Typically, that is where we note the fit of the suit.If you have additional questions, please call 800.274.1815 or email service@brooksbrothers to speak with a representative.
Warmest regards,
