Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Shirt -- LOVE it! I first saw this shirt on someone very high-ranking in an overseas U.S. embassy, when two gentlemen and I complimented her on it (in pink) while we waited to board a flight. The shirt looked like it was freshly put on but she said she'd been wearing it for 12 hours at that point! She told where she got it and how much she loves it (she has 3), so I made a mental note to treat myself to one some day. Finally took the plunge and, although It was more that I would normally ever pay for a shirt, I could not be happier. They are gorgeous (I have blue and white). I honestly wore one right out of the box -- and it did not need ANY ironing. No kidding. The packaging is top-knotch, too. I paired the blue shirt with a taupe/brown suit and got compliments all day. My husband told me several times that, "there really is something about that shirt!" They will pay for themselves within one year with the money saved by not having to dry clean it. I think the tailoring would make it look great on the outside of slacks/skirt, too. I will buy a pink one now! February 20, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by A Sad Day I used to love this particular shirt. I had two in each colour. Now my white ones are wearing out and I want to replace them but these are not pure cotton. The beauty of these shirts were that they were pure cotton and therefore comfortable to wear year round. The addition of the synthetic DOW XLA is not welcome. Until the non iron shirts return to pure cotton I will not be purchasing them. I do hope that Brooks Brothers considers going back to pure cotton or at least having the option. They were perfect without the stretch. I shop at Brooks Brothers for the classic style, quality, and natural fabrics which are hard to find nowadays. Please reconsider your decision to add artificial fabrics to many of your items. I eagerly await the next season. May 26, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by classy option for real women I have 2 of these shirts (blue and a blue stripe) and I'm sorry that I didn't discover them earlier! they're a nice substantial weight and always look crisp and neat. I'm very busty and this shirt accommodates well. All the other non-iron shirts I've ever purchased are now a waste. These are truly crisp when you pull them out of the dryer. It's better to buy one of these than 3 of another brand. The French cuffs are a lovely option. March 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Button Down Shirt w/French cuff detail!!! Finding a button down shirt that fits through the chest, but isn't billowing everywhere else is quite difficult for me. I have tried on numerous "non iron" button down shirts from other stores, in an effort to try to find a less expensive alternative. After going to store after store, and still struggling to find a non-iron button down shirt that fit as well as this one, I finally realized that nothing was going to fit me as well as this one does. Although they are expensive, they are definitely worth the money, and the best part is that they really do look great after you machine wash them as directed! You just have to be sure to take the shirts out right away and hang them! I especially love the french cuff detail on the sleeve of this shirt. It allows me to show off a bit of personal style in a work environment which is otherwise VERY conservative. Overall, a great shirt! February 17, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wish it was longer. The shirt keeps coming untucked. December 8, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mrs Saw this on an Oprah show where it (in white) was a must have in everyone's closet. Got it in pink - only color in my size at the store I visited. Now getting white & blue. Get complements everytime I wear it. March 5, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Shirt This is an amazingly beautiful shirt- The quality is amazing and it is so elegant. You will feel like a million dollars whether you wear it with a suit or a pair of jeans. March 3, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Arrived so FAST It seems like I ordered these shirts and the next day they were at my door. This is a beautiful shirt. I have long arms and the sleves are more than long enough for me. GREAT shirt October 1, 2009

Answer:
Yes, you can wear your own cuff links and I always do. The fabric knots come with the french cuff shirts and are removable. The knots are a real pain to get them in the cuff after the shirt is laundered and in my case starched.
