Best Purchase Ever
I titled this "best purchase ever" because I'll tell you why. I wanted this ground check patter in this color for my dress down in the winter with beige sweater and black jeans. However, it really goes well on a hot summer day in the evening. Although brooks brothers put on a partially broken button on the center collar to begin with, the button still remains on the shirt and should be sufficient if ever a tie is necessary.

Good price
Great shirt, very comfortable, but neck size does not fit, so that is a concern. Will buy again.

Great colors!
I ordered 3 colors and absolutely love the purple. The green and the blue have also received many compliments from co-workers.

Answer:
Garishness is in the eye of the beholder. They are bright...no doubt. But, it all depends on how you plan to wear them. Under a grey or beige sweater, these colors will add some pop. On their own, they tend to make a statement. I wore the green shirt with orange BB cords, so I'm not afraid to be a bit colorful. I'm fair-complected, so bright colors suit me. Paired with dark or neutral pants, they could work for anyone bold enough to draw some attention.2 years, 5 months ago

Answer:
Not at all garish. This check shirt has beautiful fall colors and the other versions were also well done. I do not recall any shirt in the many years of shopping at BB as being garishly colored -- always very classically made and patterned. I would say get to a store and look at them in-person. Dallas still has them in stock so perhaps Atlanta does as well.2 years, 6 months ago

I love bold colors. I chose two of these shirts one in purple one in cranberry to match cashmere sweaters I purchased as well.If you like subtle colors choose other shirts.

I would go with a small, but a mrdium may work if you like the sweater a little looser. I wear either a medium or large, but had to go with a large in this sweater.1 year, 9 months ago
