Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 132 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Shirt Review My only complain about this particular shirt is the fit around the middle. The athetic/slim fit shirts fit well around the shoulders but still have too much room around the waste. This is giving me a baggy look around the waste. Otherwise the shirt is working just fine. This shirt is actually the third blue shirt I have had from Brooks Brothers this year. I purchased a similar shirt with French Cuffs in the end of 2010 or early 2011. After only a month or so the elbows on this shirt had holes in it. I took it back to the store in dowtown Cincinnati where they replaced it. After another 2months or so the replacement popped a hole in the elbow as well. This most recent purchase was to replace the second French Cuffed shirt to have a whole in it in less than 6 months. I am not using heavy starch or drycleaning these shirts. I launder them in cold water and hang dry them. They are ironed with steam only and no starch. With all this they are still wearing out relatively quickly. June 1, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Highly Recommended, but could use refining I am a young professional that is tall and skinny. I have tried other "more stylish" shirts by designer labels. They look fashionable, but look sloppy because they wrinkle so easily and are almost impossible to keep unwrinkled. I like the classic American look that Brook Brothers provides as well as the unmatched wrinkle free benefits. I don't have a lot of money to have a whole wardrobe of shirts that need to be professionally cleaned. I use a rotation of 3 of these shirts and wash them in the home washer and dryer. I rarely have to iron them. This is a huge benefit to a budget conscious young professional. I do wish there was an extra slim for real skinny people like myself. I also wish the cuffs had 2 buttons as they seem a little cheap to me as they are right now. I also wish they had side pleats instead of the center pleat on the back. I would recommend the shirts to anyone and will continue to wear these shirts and add more to my wardrobe. May 15, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent shirts I've bought all the other shirts, even from big name men's clothiers but this is the best quality, best fitting most comfortable shirt ever. The great thing about Brooks Brothers is they actually know about men's clothing. For many years I purchased regular fitting shirts because mostly that's what is available. I stopped at a BB store to try these shirts and find out that I've always been a slim fit. What a revelation and what a difference in the way I wear my clothes. I am not really slender or bulky and the shirts fit just right. Great fit, great feel, great colors, this is my dress shirt from now on. August 30, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Average Quality Since I've purchased these shirts, I have exchanged them for the all cotton shirts to see if the quality of cotton was any better. The quality of cotton used in Brooks Brothers shirts has lessened over the years and are no longer smooth around the collar or to the touch. March 2, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid shirt, problematic cut but good look This is another one of the many basic staple shirts that Brooks Brothers offers. The Slim Fit, as always, provides its usual problems: baggy at the waist if you have an athletic cut (a sacrifice you must make if you need to size up from the Extra Slim Fit thanks to a broader chest if you're athletic). I have this shirt in blue, light blue, pink, and white. All colors are both work appropriate (summer on Wall Street) and great casually as well in the country club, campus, fraternity house, or traveling. I will note that as another reviewer wrote, these shirts do not seem to be of the same quality as the ones I bought two years ago. August 12, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Shine off of the apple? I wear non-iron dress shirts occasionally. For this reason, I order 6-shirts per year. I have noticed every year that the quality of the shirts is declining. This most recent order (1/10), one of the shirts is perfect, no complaints there. However, two of the shirts are already beginning to fray and I have had to "trim" strings from the collar and button-hole stitching. I have only worn them two times and I run them thru the most gentle wash/dry cycle. I would usually get 6-8 months of wear before this would happen. February 11, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly what you want it to be What can really be said about a blue dress shirt? That it fits perfectly? That the quality is of the highest standards? That they styling is a perfect mix of classic Americana without looking dated? All of that and more is true regarding my most recent purchase of an All-Cotton Non-Iron Slim Fit Pinpoint Ainsley Collar Dress Shirt in Light Blue. I could not be happier with my purchase and will be buying several more in the very near future. When you put a shirt like this on, you portray the image of how any business person should look: classic, understated, and properly trimmed. The collar has just the right amount of spread. The slim-fit has just the right amount of drape. The signature shirring adds just the right amount of distinctive style to set the brand apart from others and the color is just the right shade of light blue. All in all, the unknowing (as it relates to men's fashion) will notice how clean and proper you look in the shirt and the knowing will be impressed with your distinct choice to select Brooks Brothers. The selection of this shirt for your wardrobe will always be a good decision, regardless of your age, income, or position in life. September 29, 2010
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a "slim fit" shirt by any stretch This is a beautiful shirt, but I had to return it. I'm 5'7" 150lbs with an athletic build. I bought the 15/32 slim fit and it looked like I had put on a circus tent. Hopefully I have better luck with the extra slim fit. March 2, 2012

Answer:
Hello, thank you for your inquiry. The Regular fit is roomier in the chest and torso than our Slim Fit offerings and a chest size of 38 would likely be equivalent to a size 15.5 neck. Attached to this response you will find a screenshot of our fit guide, this should help in your selection.

I own a BB non iron slim fit shirt cut from the "broadcloth" and it is by far the most exceptional shirt in my closet. The only problem is that its french cuffs are a little too formal for everyday office use. The barrel cuff version only seems to come in "pinpoint" and I want to make sure I will not be disappointed. Is anyone familiar enough with these two materials to provide a contrast?

Answer:
Traditionally, broadcloth is a finer and thinner weave that pinpoint, which is a finer and thinner weave than oxford. Broadcloth feels very smooth, but also is so much thinner it often requires an undershirt to be worn so you can not see through it when it is on your body.

Answer:
I actually prefer pinpoint to broadcloth as it breathes better yet still looks very crisp. I live in the southeast where it hit close to 100 today with 80% humidity and would not fathom having a broadcloth shirt on in that weather. Plus the pinpoint seems to be more durable. While I may be biased, I think oxford cloth (royal and pinpoint) has a better hand and drape to it than broadcloth. I own dress shirts in all three cloths and work in a suit environment. 9 out of 10 times, I still go for the pinpoint or royal oxford just for the feel and drape. Hope that helps.

I think broadcloth is much smoother than pinpoint as pinpoint is refined oxford cloth.

I'm not referring to a barrel cuff but rather the extra button around the wrist of the sleeve. I noticed that there was a comment regarding a shirt that didn't have one. What's the standard at BB?

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Typically, our non-iron dress shirts, as well as our more casual sport shirts, do not have buttons at the wrist vent. These buttons are only included in our luxury shirts and our more formal shirt offerings. Certainly not a defect but an excellent question nonetheless.

We do hope this information is helpful.

Answer:
Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Based on the measurements you have provided, we recommend that you select an Extra-Slim fit, in size 15.5 x 33. If you prefer to have more room in the chest and torso, you could opt for a Slim fit, but be aware that Traditional and Regular shirts will simply be too bulky. For our sport shirts, you should choose Slim fit, size Medium. Again, the Regular fit will be entirely too big based on the sizes you've given.

Answer:
Yes, an extra-slim fit would fit your proportions better. Order the same neck and arm size but there should be less fabric around your mid-section.

Please see the attached fit guide for further details.
