Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice vest...too short I agree with the others, it could be longer. While I understand formal trousers are worn higher, the vest still is not long enough. I'm a 44 and 6' 2". Nice styling, but I'll need a trip to the tailor to make it work. May 11, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by HORRIBLE FIT I really liked the look of this vest and purchased it as an alternative to my full back vest. As most others have reported this vest is far too short. After reading the reviews I ordered a size large. I adjusted the vest to be as long as possible and the bottom of the vest was above the waistband of my tuxedo pants and exposed my shirt. This shouldn't happen I am 5'9", 175#, 34" waist size 42 reg. March 8, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Too small This is a ridicoulsly small sized low cut vest. I am a size S in most things (38R suit) and even on the biggest setting this Medium vest is 3" too small. It fits more like an XS or XXS. March 28, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rare Classic The traditional 3-button waistcoat is such a difficult item to find. And like most waistcoats it isn't too long. Other reviews say that it's too short, but the problem is that their trousers sit too low on the hips. If your trousers sit properly at your waist you won't have a problem. Low-rise trousers and a longer waistcoat would throw off the classic proportions. The biggest problem is that trousers with a traditional rise can no longer be found at Brooks Brothers. Brooks Brothers should make their trousers with a longer rise and forward pleats like they used to. December 28, 2010

My husband is 6'1", with the size 46 Long Jacket and 38 waist/30.5" inseam trousers for a suit sizing. Should I purchase Medium or Large size for this vest to fit the given size. Also, some comments were claiming the the vest is too short for a person taller than 5'9" -- is that correct?

Answer:
Im a size 38/39 and the medium is way to short even on the longest setting. I doubt even the large will fit me. The vest is supposed to cover the belt but it barely reaches my naval. This is probably designed for men who wear high cut trousers.

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Our Silk Barathea Backless Vest is fitted more for a formal tuxedo. The 1818 One-Button Fitzgerald Tuxedo has a notch lapel, which is traditionally a bit more informal. While this vest may look acceptable beneath, it is better suited with a peak lapel such as item 326K, our One-Button Peak Lapel Tuxedo Jacket.

Kind regards,

I have a nice vintage matching set of shirt studs, links and waistcoat buttons. Can the buttons on this waistcoat be removed (like on the white pique model) so that I can wear the set? Thank you.
