Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 46 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Quality I rotate out seven dress shirts for work on week days. I always wash warm, then tumble dry on low for 15 minutes before hanging them to dry the rest of the way. I iron them when needed. This allows me to usually get 3-5 years out of a shirt before it starts to show wear. I haven't even owned this shirt for 6 months and it is already too worm to wear. That's pathetic. None of the buttons fell off, but then again the shirt only lasted ~25 wears. The fit wasn't bad, but it had a bit too much material at the waist. It's not what you'd expect from a slim fit shirt. The fabric was fairly thick and rarely needed ironing. For me, the shirt wasn't too thick for an air conditioned office during the summer and was also somewhat warm during the colder months. January 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Still the best oxfords available These shirts remain the gold standard by which all other oxfords are measured. I have been buying these oxfords for 20+ years and still have some from the 90s with their unlined collars and sleeves. However, two of the shirts I have purchased in the last year are showing some early signs of fraying at the stitching on the seams between the sleeves and body. Also, the white shirts shrink significantly when laundered- I have to size up 0.5" in the neck for white shirts- the blue, pink, and striped ones stay true to size. January 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by a standard This shirt is a standard, a wardrobe staple. Requires ironing but the heavy fabric makes the ironing easy. The fit is not so slim; I would describe it as moderately slim or slimmer than average, which is pretty big these days. If you are middle-aged and in decent shape, it's probably going to work well enough for you. The pink is a good pink; it's more of a rough mix of red and white than a soft and pure pink. The ecru is good for everything but use with light brown khakis. The white is sound but perhaps too business-looking for casual use. Best of all is the light blue. This looks good with everything. I wish they did more than one shade of light blue. Until then, this one is good and worth owning in numbers. Two details to note are the collar, which has enough length and the proper button placement to produce a good roll, and the shirring at the sleeve, which adds a little swank. If one of these fits you well, you are in luck. I wish they were still 100% made in the USA. On the other hand, they are not expensive and we'd pay double or more for made in the USA. Rated 5 out of 5 by Don't Let It Fade! This shirt represents part of the core of traditional men's dressing that is slowly disappearing in favor of chemically treated non-iron materials, trendy colors, and fashionable cuts. Help preserve and protect this beautiful species so that future generations can enjoy it! October 27, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great quality and fit I'm asian male 5'6 tall and a bit muscular (or slightly chabby, but my friends tell me I'm still skinny), playing rugby. I bought 14-1/2, 32 size and it fits me very well. I really enjoyed the quality of fabrique which is thick and nice touch, and the appearance. I only found similar size (whici was more expensive) and quality at one place, but now I have BB. I look great and with another BB jacket, I'm ready to date blond blue eyes. October 6, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by An enduring friend I first came across BB oxford button downs in college. I was amazed at how comfortable they were. When I trekked across Africa and the Sahara it was the shirt I wore to stay cool. Now, buying a half dozen at the annual sale it's like coming home to an old friend. Same excellent fit, same soft fabric, same enduring style. With jeans or a suit this is the only shirt I ever need! June 28, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great slim fit shirt I have purchased 5 of these shirts in the slim fit and all fit and feel great. I have a slim athletic build and the fit is excellent I believe the slim fit in the classic cotton is slimmer than the slim fit in the non-iron shirts and fits better. The classic cotton shirts only get softer and more comfortable after multiple washings. I feel these shirts live up to the Brooks Brothers tradition of quality, comfort and style. I would like to see a greater selection in the classic cotton shirt offerings. I don't think you can go wrong in purchasing one of these shirts. February 2, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Subpar quality I am not happy with the quality of this shirt's fabric. I wore it exactly once and laundered it exactly once and the collar is already showing signs of premature fraying; i.e. the fabric is pilling and fuzzy around the collar ring (hope that makes sense). More minor but still worth mentioning is the poor finishing on my cuffs, where I'm having to cut/trim excess thread. At this price point, I should not have to deal with either of these problems. I'm very disappointed with this product, and while this doesn't entirely negate my years of positive experience with the brand, I'm inclined to explore other options in the future. December 5, 2013

Answer:
My general experience is that 23/33 is 33 in and 34/35 is 35 in. So, if your 34/35 sized shirt feels long in the sleeves, order size 34. If it feels right, order 35. You can also go to a BB store and ask to be measured.

Answer:
Shirts with two numbers sleeve sizing have longer sleeves. The smaller number tightens the cuff around the wrist to cinch the sleeve and prevent it from falling to its maximum length (i.e. the larger number). If the shirts you own with two number sizing are too long with the cuffs unbuttoned, choose a sleeve length equal to the smaller of the two numbers. If the sleeve is the proper length with the cuffs unbuttoned, choose a sleeve length equal to the higher number.

Answer:
Choose the higher number if the sleeves on a 34/35 are a little shorter, and the lower number if they are too long. Otherwise, just order the higher number.

Should I allow for shrinkage in the fit of these shirts? I have a slim fit oxford from a few years ago that fits much smaller than slim fit non-irons in the exact same size. Is there rule of thumb such as going up an inch in neck and sleeve?

Answer:
The white shirts will shrink half an inch in the neck and sleeves, even if you don't use the dryer and hang them dry. In the 10+ shirts I have purchased in the last year, the blue, pink, blue stripe and red striped shirts have not shrunk at all.

I have been told the classic cotton shirts are not pre-shrunk and therefore allow for a little shrinkage. I however purchase the same sizes in the classic, non-iron and luxury and have had no problems. T

Hello,

Oxford shirts might shrink after multiple washings. However, there is no rule stating one should buy a size up when purchasing products that might shrink.

I am cursed with a neck that is slightly larger than average. I would prefer a shirt with a 17" neck and a 32" sleeve. Since the 33" sleeve is the shortest i can order with the 17" neck, I would hope the cuffs come with a second button so I can tighten them up so that the cuffs don't dangle down around my knuckles. Dare I hope the Oxford cloth shirts come with a second button on the cuffs so that they can be adjusted? Thank you in advance.

Check the catalogs. Sometimes one can custom-order the basic oxford shirts, e.g. pick the color, the collar size and style, sleeve length (sometimes even to the half-inch), pocket or not, etc.

Hello,

Unfortunately, there is not a second button on cuffs of our oxford shirts. However, because of your shirt sleeve measurement, our Made to Measure program might be a great option to explore. I am attaching a link for your reference about the Made to Measure program and process.

I was told at the store that that they have been made larger. Unfortunately the salesperson also said that BB discontinued Oxford shirts. Not sure she is a reliable source. Thanks

Answer:
Hello sir, thank you for your inquiry. We apologize that you were given this incorrect information. Indeed, quite the opposite is true. We have actually expanded our Oxford offerings, many of which are for sale in our online store. In fact we offer an Oxford weave in many of our offerings- from dress shirts to sport shirts. Simply type the word "Oxford" into the search field atop any page and you will be presented with our complete line. Perhaps our associate meant to say that his store hasn't received many of these items as quantities are often limited, you will likely find a greater selection online than in-store. Lastly, the fit of our Slim fit dress shirts has not changed, we have merely added another fit, the Extra-Slim. It is slimmer in the torso and has higher armholes and trimmer sleeves.

We do hope this is helpful and apologize for the confusion this has caused. Please know you may always phone Customer Service at 800.274.1815 or email service@brooksbrothers.com for additional inquiries or comments, we welcome both.

Kind regards,
Brooks Brothers

The slim-fit Oxford shirts that I buy, now available online since only the Manhattan store [Madison Ave.] sells them, are made in the USA [or I would not continue to buy them]. I have noticed that the non-Oxford shirts are made in Malasyia and for some reason do not fit me as well as the Oxford shirts.

They are both Slim Fit Dress shirts with Supima cotton - what is the difference? (ITEM# 118Q and ITEM# 132Q)

Answer:
Excellent question sir. The Supima Cotton Non-Iron Slim Fit Button-Down Dress Shirt is is treated with a wrinkle-resistant finish that allows for easy laundering and little need for pressing. The Classic All-Cotton Slim Fit Supima Oxford Dress Shirt is not treated with this finish and will therefore require ironing after each laundering. In addition, the shirt pictured above, item 132Q, has an oxford weave and is a bit thicker than our broadcloth cotton, used in item 118Q.

Kind regards,

I ordered a traditional fit non-iron Oxford. The fabric was thick and soft, but the fit was much too large for me. So I then returned it and ordered slim-fit - this is a great fit for me, but the fabric feels really different - thinner and very crisp. It feels like a no-iron fabric. Yet the order slip says 132Q. Looking on the shirt I see nothing to proclaim a product number, other than 100B (which apparently is not a BB product code). The laundering instructions says tumble dry low-warm , steam iron if needed. I'm really baffled, this doesn't feel at all like the supposedly same shirt in traditional fit. What's going on?

We are sorry for the confusion regarding the two different shirt fabrics you received.
Both shirts you ordered online were cotton-neither was non iron.
If not too inconvenient, perhaps you could bring the shirt you recently received to your local store and they could shed some light on the fabric difference.
