Brooks Brothers at their best. This isn't about fashion, it's about style. I couldn't be happier with mine. It looks great with or without a tie and is just as versatile as a navy blazer, but a lot less ubiquitous. Be sure to threaten your drycleaner's children to make sure the leather buttons are covered before cleaning. November 4, 2011
Classic sport coat well done by Brooks Brothers! This camel hair sport coat is a classic which is a mainstay in my wardrobe. Not surprisingly, this Brooks Brothers version is impecably tailored with the finest of camel hair material. It looks great with a shirt and tie, or a brown turtleneck underneath. The leather wrapped buttons adds a classy touch. I highly recommend this jacket. January 21, 2011

The original questioner wanted to know whether they can be sewn on in a "surgeon's cuff" manner, i.e. with working buttonholes. Neither of the above answered that question. I doubt Brooks Brothers would do that for free. Lots of tailors will, for a price, and Brooks Brothers may also (for a price).

most of the better quality sports coats and blazers are unfinished, take to your retail location and they will sew them on .

There is no cost associated with having a Brooks Brothers tailor adding buttons, as long as you bring the receipt with you.
