Classic in every way
I bought this blazer to replace a similiar one that has served me well for almost twenty years whose lining was pretty shot but otherwise it still looks great. The Loro Piana wool of the new blazer has a better hand that that of my old Blazer, it fits perfectly and has the same classic sack styling. I highly recommend it.

Classic sack jacket
This 1818 Madison sack jacket is a great fit - the 40R is well proportioned with 18" shoulders and a 43" chest, which is so much better than many other Brooks jackets that have gigantic padded shoulders with a miniscule chest. The shoulders have some padding but they are much more natural than the sacks currently offered by J.Press. The material is a soft and smooth worsted and not hopsack so this jacket looks polished.
I am hopeful Brooks will offer more sack jackets and suits cut like this and will abandon the trendy Cambridge cut that has comically slim lapels and is cut ridiculously slim and short.

Another classic from BB
Even-though it is a sack non-darted, it fits great. I am somewhat between slim and athletic and in my size, it looks like BB designed it for me personally. I get lots of compliments from co-leagues and friends and am glad I bought this blazer.
Thank you, BB.

The ultimate preppy blazer
What can one write about the ultimate preppy classic, the BB sack blazer? The cloth is loro piana, which is of the highest quality Italian cloth. The sack cut is an American classic, and has been a favorite of BB customers for over 50 years. While i tend to buy blazers with silver toned buttons, ones sak blazer must have the classic gold toned. While the sack cut is a little more geerous around the waist, the BB model is by no means baggy or ill fitting.
There is no garment more preppy than this blazer. All other manufaturers of allegedly preppy clothing are mere immitators of this original.

Answer:
No, it is referring to the front. The top button is folded under the lapel and is, to all intents and purposes, non-functional. This is what is referred to as a 3 roll 2, or 3/2 jacket. A classic American menswear look that, thankfully, BB and a few other menswear suppliers keep alive. I only wish they did more...1 year, 5 months ago

Answer:
The top-most button is essentially part of the lapel and is never to be used. This is referred to , usually, as a 3/2 roll, meaning the third button is rolled into the lapel. If you look closely at the picture showing the front of the jacket, you will see the button hole on the left lapel (adjacent to the handkerchief pocket). The button, on the other lapel, is not visible because it has been "rolled" under the lapel.

Hello, thank you for you inquiry. Indeed you may wear our Three-Button Sack 1818 Blazer in the mid-summer. Naturally, any additional layer will intensify the heat but this blazer is crafted from fine Loro Piana wool, which is both breathable and lightweight. In addition, the half-canvas construction allows for better circulation in the lower half of the torso. Not to mention, a classic sack blazer is always in fashion in the summer, the gold buttons recall the nautical heritage of the look and this plays quite well throughout the season.Kind regards,

Are these faux button holes, unattached buttons, no button holes at all, or working cuffs? Thank you.

Answer:
No button holes. Buttons are 3/3 arrangement of BB gilded design. I replaced mine with University, in nickel, buttons. If you desire functional button holes, any BB retail store will accept your garment and send it to Long Island where very nice holes are (semi-) handmade.

The sleeves come finished with three buttons. You do have the option to have surgeon's cuffs added, but this would cost extra.2 years, 1 month ago

Is the blazer fully lined? And what kind of fabric used for the lining?
I have 1818 2-button BB blazer which is fully lined with Bemberg and was wondering if this one is lined in the same manner? Thanks.

I'm a little confused from reading the reviews and Q&A as to whether this blazer (Item # 793M) has two or three patch pockets. The pictures above show only two patch pockets at the hip. Is there a patch pocket on the chest as well?
Does Brooks Brothers offer a 3/2 roll, sack, three patch pocket blazer?
