Top Notch Hat This hat was top notch in construction and appearance, however I ordered the XL which was still too small. Brooks Brothers may want to review the sizing on this item to make sure it is correct. If I could get one with 1 inch more in diameter I'd buy it in a minute! But don't let my situation deter you- it's a hat that will never go out of style. February 21, 2012
Overall Nice Headwear I purchased this fedora to wear to a bar mitzvah in Detroit. I wanted something that was more formal than the cashmere beanies I normally wear. The fedora looked really nice, and was striking as these hats are a throwback to a simpler time. I probably agree with the other commenter that full retail value for the fedora is a bit high. Girls---Hat's Off 2 u! This is such a nice hat for women as well as men. It comes in many colors, so you can have one for many outfits and looks. The fit is a little snug, that makes me think it was originally for women. August 20, 2011
ONE COOL LID This beaver fur felt hat is so very COOL The color tkaes this hat into a new direction. It is almost a light plum. If Bogart was alive today he would be rockin this lid. Or is it a stiff "stingy brim" style? There are two types of fedora brims and I'm assuming this is of the classic "slant downward" style .. ?

I am not sure what "stingy brim" means exactly. However, the fedora arrives with the brim up around the entire circumference of the hat. Any part of the brim can be pressed down. I wore the hat with back and sides of the brim up, and the front of the brim down.

This fedora has a 2" brim, so it would not be considered stingy (stingy would be more like 1 5/8ths) but you're right, the brim is the classic brim which is not stiff and can be flipped up or down easily. You may know this, but for those who don't -keep the brim flipped up when you're not wearing it so that the weight of the hat is not resting on its downward facing brim. Also, the entire hat has a soft comfortable feel to it.
