Rated 5 out of 5 by World's Best Pleated Formal Shirt I have purchased two of these shirts in the past and I have never been disappointed. The fabric is soft and posseses a luxurious feel. The fit is generous and not confining like some formal shirts. Brooks Brothers does not skimp on the fabric. I only wish that this shirt came in pink and blue as well. I would recommend this shirt to anyone who is looking for a long lasting, comfortable, elegant formal shirting. December 29, 2010

This shirt requires four (4) studs, but the buttons that come with it are quite nice and would not detract from the appeal of the shirt if just worn with cufflinks.

I am lkooking for a shirt that only uses 3 studs as that is all were in sets made 50 or more years ago. If there is a 4th button hole I require an optional button that can be buttoned instead of using a 4th stud.

4 studs are the latest fashion. I also have a set of three from the 1960's You can use a button. I choose to replace my studs.

there is a strip to remove all of the buttons. if you remove all f them, you will need 4 studs, but i don't see any reason that you couldn't leave the last one buttoned and just keep the strip of buttons attached under your shirt. i don't think it woudl look weird or even be noticable
