Would not recommend; works well, lacks finish
This umbrella is large enough for an adult male, and can accommodate a second smaller person in a pinch. I like the appearance of this umbrella when it is brand new. However, the handle has no lacquer or shellac on it, and any bump, scuff, or drop, will cause the handle to chip, which is unsightly. I'm VERY disappointed in this feature. Brooks Brothers used to put a lacquer on the handles which caused them to hold up much better. I have owned two of those, and I'm not sure why BB stopped doing it.
Additionally, the fabric does not dry well. Other Brooks Brothers umbrellas, like the Golden Fleece Logo Mini Umbrella (which I also own), dry very quickly. I simply have to close the Mini and leave it unfastened and it will dry. This umbrella must be left completely open in order for it to dry.
Finally, the beaded raindrops just sit on this umbrella when you walk; they do not fall off the umbrella. When you get to your destination, your umbrella is dripping like a faucet for about 10-15 seconds, and as you tap the ferrule on the ground, another steady stream of water comes off.
In summary, I would not recommend this umbrella. I do like the Mini that I mentioned earlier, although the current Mini that I own has the same laquer problem. The Mini is also too small to share with someone unless they are a close friend who doesn't mind having your arm around them.

Great Quality
Great quality for the price. Nice looking. Can take a beating from wind and rain and retains its shape and quality.

Large and Sturdy
Like other reviewers have stated, this umbrella is large without being overly so. The other week I had to walk through quite a severe storm and even though the bottom of my pants got wet, the rest of my body remained dry. Also there was no threat of it buckling like with the cheaper, metal bracketed umbrellas.
Overall a very worthwhile purchase.
