Rated 5 out of 5 by A Brooks Brothers home run, just beautiful I'm 41, 5'6", 135 pounds - trim & fit, a 36S which is hard to find in stores. There are few options for off-the rack clothing for me that are the right mix of smart, trim and timeless - I was so pleased when Brooks brought out the Fitzgerald line and I'm glad to see them expand it. I ordered this jacket in the summer and just now got it, but it was absolutely worth the wait. It fits just about perfectly off the rack - not boxy but also not too-fashionably tight. The hopsack material is great - it has a subtle weave that resists wrinkles and works well dressed down or up as it lacks sheen. Combined with the partial lining, which is well taped, it should wear well in all seasons - breathing in summer yet not looking too light in winter thanks to the midweight wool. Well made in USA by UNITE workers. If you only have one blazer, and you're reasonably fit, you needn't look any further - this is the one to get. The absolute best mix of value, quality, and enduring style. Congratulations BB! January 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simply The best blazer that BB has to offer Although BB offers several blazers at higher price points (and I own a few of them), in my opinion, this is the best blazer that's offered in the line. The ability to make the sleeve buttons functional is a luxury touch normally found in blazers with prices that approach 4 figures. The same is to be said of the silver buttons. The patch stitching is a very nice detail, and the hopsack weave of the wool makes the blazer stand out, even among a crowd of preps! Finally, the 3/8th lining is especially appreciated in warmer weather. As an aside, bigger gentlemen should not be scared away by the Brooks Brothers' promotion of Fitzgerald cuts as slimmer and trimmer fitting.Despite being a closer design, the Fitzgerald fit is very complimentary to my 6'0", 250 lb. frame and actually more flattering than the Madison fit. Rated 3 out of 5 by OK Blazer that I waited a LONG time for Like others here, I expected a better made blazer that had the typical BB flash. Instead, it is an OK blazer that really doesn't fit that well. I am 5'8, 155 pounds and fit well in a 40R Fitzgerald suit. This jacket definitely runs small through the shoulders and is tight on me. I was hoping to be able to wear this blazer "up", but instead it is going to be nothing more than an "off" work day jacket instead. They also had me wait nearly 3 months for this blazer to finally arrive. March 8, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Looking Coat, Light Weight, Very Happy One of the things I really like is that the back of the coat is only partially lined. This makes it more breathable. I get hot easily, so this makes a big difference to me. Coat fit great off the rack. Looks really nice. I like the buttons, kind of an aged silver color. The coat appears to be very well made with good initial quality. I've worn it once to a job interview and felt very confident in it. This is my 2nd blazer from BB. The first lost a battle to moths and my expanding waste line. Otherwise, I loved it which is why I went back to BB for its replacement. They make great stuff. August 17, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Unimpressive This is an average quality blazer which is a bit over priced. The fabric wrinkles, the vent inner lining threads were poorly attached, fit is very similar to blazers cost less than half its retail. I would prefer the 1818 blazer instead of this one. I'm glad it's made in the USA, but I'm not really impressed with anything it has to offer. I hope BB improves the quality of this blazer significantly. I will continue to use it, but I am very disappointed with this purchase. Do not buy online, try it first. January 12, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by OK, but a bit disappointed. The general appearance of this blazer is good, but on closer inspection the overall quality is not what it should be for the price. Fabric feels sort of boardy and the fit in the shoulders is cramped. Sleeve length and bottom length are good - a tad short on me, but I decided not to try for the next bigger size as it might be too much. I hoped for a very good quality jacket I could feel "dressed" in, but this will have to serve for just everyday. January 19, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Young Professional Blazer this blazer is perfect for me as a young professional in DC. i wear a silver watch so always have preferred silver on anything metal. this blazer fits the bill with its pewter-like buttons that give off a younger vibe compared to the traditional gold-buttoned blazer. fitzgerald cut has a nice tapered look and fits like a blazer should. madison can be a little boxy on someone with broad shoulders and slimmer waist - fitz is a perfect solution. Rated 3 out of 5 by buttons with logo Please note that the buttons have a 3D golden fleece logo. The available pictures do not show this and unfortunately the logo is quite prominent. Debating whether it is worth having them replaced or simply return this item asap. April 26, 2012
