Madison Fit Pleat-Front Classic Gabardine Trousers 2.8 5 35 37
Why did you change the cut? I see that I am not the only one to discover that BB has changed the cut of its traditional dress pants. I recently bought three pairs of Madison dress pants and have found that they are uncomfortable. They ride below my waist and the crouch rise is too shallow. Are you trying to save on fabric? I can't wear them. They are not comfortable. I will no longer buy BB dress pants. August 9, 2012
If it wasn't broken, why try to fix it? I have been wearing the brooks brothers gabardine line of pants for years now. I went into the store today for my yearly purchases and tried on the same size as previously and was surprised to find that they had MARKEDLY changed. They waist rides very low, and the crotch (more technically called rise) is about 3 inches higher, making it a much tighter fit. I spoke to the salesperson and they said that with the new style, I may need to increase the waist size for more comfort. I went up 1 inch, and it was still too tight. I increased by two inches and they fell off my waist. I have a fairly athletic build and these did not fit well at all - far too tight. I would advise anyone thinking that they are getting the same pants as before to try them on before ordering online. The difference is significant, and unfortunately for the worse. Brooks brothers - if you are reading these reviews, please bring back the previous line - they were fashionable, durable, and extremely comfortable. If this line is to stay, then unfortunately I will need to look for a new brand. July 31, 2012
Worst pants ever! I recently bought these pants for my husband to replace a pair of BB madison fit gaberdines that were getting old.I must say I got an ear full this morning when he put them on for work! The rise was too short, they were tight in the seat and they fit like hip huggers, other things that were said I cannot print here.I thought they would fit like the other madison fit gabs that he has been wearing for years, but they don't. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. Brooks Brothers, you got the fit all WRONG!Middle aged men do not want to wear pants in their cracks all day and they sure do not want to be UNCOMFORTABLE! I sure hope that these can be returned! July 2, 2012
Why did they change the fit? I purchased two pairs of these slacks in-store about two years ago and loved them. Recently, I purchased two more on- line and noticed that the rise was uncomfortably lower and that they rode somewhat differently on the waist. I am an extremely loyal Brooks Brothers customer -- I rarely wear other brands for my daily business-wear because I rely on the consistent fit. These have been a disappointment. June 9, 2012
