Rated 4 out of 5 by Davy I was only going to buy a Blue Repp Tie with a red stripe to replace one that had worn out but after reading a review from someone who had just bought a replacement for his worn out Blue Repp Tie with a white stripe, it quickly became apparent that I needed one of each.

I owned one of these about 15 years ago second-hand (yes, that's how much tradition this design is steeped in) and at that point, it already had to be at least 20 years old - it was about 4 1/2" across on the wide blade, suggesting it was made in the early '70s. Total antithesis of the Dacron harvest gold and avocado horrors of that era. Even though it was over-wide, it was sharp and classed up my outfits. The navy with white stripe (the colorway I owned) is the perfect way to bring together a navy suit or blazer and a white shirt; other colorways will create similar harmonies with other outfits. The elegant simplicity of a plain stripe on a solid field is simply elegant. I finally had to retire mine when the fraying became noticeable after a great many wearings; I was glad to see BB brought back the navy/white colorway after many absent seasons. Buy this tie in the colorways that best match your suits/jackets and shirts; it will become a perennial favorite.

The stripe seems to complement every fabric pattern.
Produces a very refined, conservative image: One can easily imagine oneself as an ambassador or a Prime Minister.

I like the black and white but have this tie in a variety of colors. i always get compliments because it is neat and bold. quality is great with all BB ties
