Levi's® 514 Slim Fit for Brooks Brothers 4.6 5 14 18
these jeans look great and feel great. Very sturdy. My son loves them. October 5, 2011
A Cut Above: Brooks Bros. Levi's 514 I simply HAVE to review these Brooks Bros. 514 Levi's jeans- they are SO beautifully cut and finished-! The material itself- bought in the Flint Wash color- is very high end and expensive looking, yet still kind of rugged. They are a work of art- just perfect proportionally, no exaggeration. My darling husband is "built" at 6'2" and 240+ lbs. His chest is 48 inches, waist 40 inches, and hips 44" -just measured him:) Jeans-wise, he wears size 36 in TR and 38 in Taverniti & Lauren- (and, he must wear a belt with all three brands.) I bought a size 36 in these 514 Levi's, inseam 34, and they fit him perfectly. He says: "No belt necessary, super-comfortable, great fit and material- very cool" and he wants another pair! We're both just very impressed- so, truly, my highest recommendation here. I'd love to buy the darker wash too, but am afraid they may be raw denim i.e. too dark and unfinished, which is not my/his cup of tea. So I am here buying the same pair (color is a cool dark blue with slight distressing) -again. Worth the $ certainly but wish BB would lower the price somewhat so more people could enjoy them! Look & Quality on par with other Levi's for Brooks With this third purchase of Levi's for Brooks, I feel pretty confident in saying that the Levi's for Brooks jeans are a cut above typical Levi's and other common brands. The 514s are well made with a quality fabric and weight. They have a nice refined look and line to them as well, and the dark wash is quite appealing and makes for a dressier look. The quality stitching and finish work further compliments the overall look and quality of the jean. As I've said before, these have a more sophisticated quality about them. Which i like. I would, however, caution that the low rise takes a little getting used to. One last item, my Dad, to whom a pair of jeans is a pair of jeans, actually took particular notice of the 501s I was wearing the other day, and complimented me on their pretty nice look. At Last Unfortunately I strayed from Levis a while back and began wearing TR's simply because I like the way the fell down my leg, but these are less expensive and just as good quality, and the fact that they're mad in America sealed the deal. Levis set the precedent for American jeans. What more could you ask for? March 16, 2011
