Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 36 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Classic, beautiful, durable. I was a legislative aide on Capitol Hill, alternating daily between the navy and the grey Fitzgerald suits. After four years of regular wear, they still looked great. In a sea of Washington suits, I get compliments to this day. February 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Fit, But Beware... First of all, the Fitzgerald fit is my favorite fit in my wardrobe -- four of my suits are Fitzgeralds. But after fewer than six months of once-a-week wear, I noticed the fabric on the corner of the right back pocket starting to get thin, and ultimately turned into a hole. Of course, part of the problem was that I wore my wallet there (I don't anymore) -- but with such infrequent wear, that shouldn't happen. I can say that the folks at the Madison Avenue store went above and beyond fixing the problem for me. But just beware that the fabric on some of these suits might not be as durable as you'd think. Rated 5 out of 5 by First Brooks Brothers Suit This was my first Brooks Brothers suit. I needed a few alterations seeing as I'm a slim guy with long arms, but other than that the Fitzgerald suit fit great right off the rack. I wore it for the first time yesterday to a job interview and felt like a million bucks. Oh, and I got the job. July 21, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exudes discretion & taste A lot has been said about the Fitzgerald: the clean lines, higher armholes and narrower lapels. It's half canvassed so the front of the suit drapes impeccably. But you need to be trim to look your best in this suit. I own several and the solid navy has been the most versatile, having a nice hand and sheen. The Fitzgerald is a killer look paired with a crisp white BB shirt and regimental tie. We know there are higher-end suits but in suits, fit is king and the Fitz has it. Whether in the boardroom, consulting room or a special occasion. Go for it. December 15, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great staple suit, but be careful with sizing I am a young lawyer, and my Fitzgerald suits are staples for me. They are flattering, while still being conservative enough to not draw attention (very important for being in front of a jury of 12 people who are judging everything about you). Be careful with sizing, however, as Brooks Brothers seems to have changed the fit of their suits. I wear a 42L (and have verified this with my tailor), and own 3 Fitzgerald suits in 42L that fit perfectly. However, when I went into a BB store last week, the 42L was very tight, and I had to move up to a 43L. Do yourself a favor and try on jackets at the store to verify your size before ordering online. Rated 5 out of 5 by Brooks timelesness with a great fit I'm 40 yrs old, 5'6", 135lbs, trim & toned. I have a 36S Golden Fleece from several years ago that I just compared with my 36S navy Fitzgerald. While the full canvas construction of the Golden Fleece is clearly better in terms of drape and feel, the Fitzgerald fit is **way** better if you are in shape. The Madison cuts are just too boxy for me. Finally I don't look like a boy in dad's suit. The Regent also looks good on me, but I don't wear suits often at all so solid navy or gray is the way to go, and the Regents don't seem to come in the basic colors. My only criticism is that it's diffcult to find a 36S in stores, and it took 3 months to get my web backorder. January 31, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Fit and Style Purchased the Fitzgerald 1818 for myself to add to my Madison collection of Brooks Brothers' suits. Once I put it on I knew I had found the perfect fit and style for myself. A slimmer fit with great style. I prefer conservative suits and this is perfect for me. The first day I wore the Fitz suit I received numerous compliments on its looks. Can't wait to buy another one! January 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding I am a 6 foot tall 200 pounds guy, muscular with a thin waist. It is hard to find a good fit and I am not a fan of made to measure suits. I need a 42 regular and most suits don't fit. I don't have the budget nor the desire to buy Canali suits or others like it. The Fitzgerald is perfect for athletic and muscular body types. I was surprised to see that the pants fit really well too. My favorite! July 29, 2010
