Fitzgerald Two-Button 1818 Suit 4.5 5 30 35
After wanting this suit for years I finally sucked it up and paid for one, and honestly, I couldn't be more happy with it! The cut of the suit is reminiscent to that early '60s look but remains very modern at the same time. Everything in the description, the lapels, the low rise in the trousers are nice touches. My only criticism however would be that the drop being 6 inches doesn't seem big enough for thinner guys, who I assume would favor the fit. Having a drop of 7 inches would be good in my opinion. Kind of like the Regent suits. Also, I am almost certain that my Regent fit gabardines are slimmer than the Fitzgerald's pants. But above all, this suit is awesome! It will remain a staple in my wardrobe forever! April 21, 2010
great suit/fit I dont wear suits often but this one is a great fit/quality. I only wish that the pant was a slimmer cut but its ok. The jacket looks spectacular. I have the navy stripe. Im 6ft 3.5inches and 220 lbs. The 44L was a great fit. My next suit will definitely be from BrooksBrothers March 24, 2010
Stitching came loose great material and sharp looking suit, feels and looks terrific. However, stitching in the shoulders (both sides) was loose (arm was actually pulled an inch apart from back) before I every wore the suit, not what I would expect from a brooks brothers. I had a similar problem with a less expensive Brooks suit, to get the stitching fixed was not really expensive, but it was an inconvenience and not what I expected from Brooks Brothers. Brooks timelesness with a great fit I'm 40 yrs old, 5'6", 135lbs, trim & toned. I have a 36S Golden Fleece from several years ago that I just compared with my 36S navy Fitzgerald. While the full canvas construction of the Golden Fleece is clearly better in terms of drape and feel, the Fitzgerald fit is **way** better if you are in shape. The Madison cuts are just too boxy for me. Finally I don't look like a boy in dad's suit. The Regent also looks good on me, but I don't wear suits often at all so solid navy or gray is the way to go, and the Regents don't seem to come in the basic colors. My only criticism is that it's diffcult to find a 36S in stores, and it took 3 months to get my web backorder. January 31, 2010
