Rated 4 out of 5 by JM5908 Great shirt, minor drawbacks
After having searched high and low for an otr slim fit shirt, I finally came across this product. I went to Brooks Brothers to check it out but they had only one style, searsucker, which did not appeal to me. I tried on a tester with a 15.5 inch collar (it is like a short sleeve version) and was impressed with the chest and waist fit. I probably should have had BB take my sleeve measurement right there but I neglected to do so, relying on these reviews and my already known arm measurements (33/34). I ended up ordering a 15.5 34 and 15.5 35. The 34 fits exceptionally (I didn't even both trying on the 35, it is going to be exchanged). There is little extra material on shirt compared to the parachutes I bought elsewhere and had tailored. For anyone similar to my size, I would highly recommend. I am a 38" chest, 15.5" neck, 31.5" waist, 11" unflexed bicep, and about 150 lbs.
The two minor drawbacks are lack of a button on underside of the forearm and lack of the option for a stretch button on the neck. More like person preferences but by no means, deal breakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JSDUBE My quest for the perfect shirt is almost over
BB shirts have always been to me very good products at a reasonable price. The extra-slim fit shirts were a great addition as the slim fit shirts were way too baggy for a slender guy like myself. Nevertheless, the extra-slim fit dress shirts I bought so far still had the unecessary back pleat and still too much fabric at the back.
Now with a welcomed removal of the back pleat on these extra-slim fit dress shirts, I was hoping for the perfect fit. However, I have to agree with the previous poster, that BB almost nailed it but there is still to much fabric around the waist. The addition of darts at the back would solve this remaining fit problem.
Nevertheless, this shirt is an excellent fitted shirt and I will buy others while hoping that BB will eventually make this small correction to the fit so that I can finally say that my quest for the perfect reasonably priced fitted shirt is over.

I bought this shirt for a wedding reception I was attending and I really liked the feel of the shirt. It material of the shirt makes it feel like it "wears well" with a suit. The material is thick enough to be worn comfortably an undershirt.
I'm still not convinced that "extra-slim" is really cut that well. The shirt feels about two inches too short.

As a long time BB wearer I was disappointed by the lose strings. Love the fit but the shirt has lots of hanging threads and loose buttons on it. I ordered 3 shirts total and 2 of the shirts have loose strings. One shirt is 100% perfect.

I'm 5'9'', 155 pounds, wear 38 for jackets. BB's slim fit shirts were a bit roomy at waist and shoulders. the extra slim fit is a better fit. wish they roll out more choices in the coming season.

I've been through many Luxury, Luxury Slim and Slim-fit shirts. I've come to the point where I'm only buying the non-iron varieties for wash-at-home convenience.
While the luxury shirts are hard to beat for cut, the non-iron slim fits have been very convenient. These extra slim shirts fit me like a tailored shirt I paid too much for in Italy (they actually fit a bit better). They are true to size, and are certainly for the slimmer folks. I am 15 1/2 / 35 with a 42 in chest. If these were any slimmer, they wouldn't fit, but they are spot on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RIWeather Finally - a shirt that fits!
I've been waiting forever to find an off the rack shirt that fits the way I want it to. I'm 5'8", 155 lb, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist (32"). Even BB slim fit shirts still had two much fabric around my torso. The 16/34 extra slim fit shirt is just about perfect for me. The fact that it is non-iron makes it that much better. I like the spread collar, too. The only thing I'd like to see is more variety in the extra-slim fit non-iron line.

Rated 3 out of 5 by extraslim 14" neck please!
The shirt is good quality but I'd need a 14" for a perfect fit. If you're going to have an extra-slim fit, why not have a smaller neck size and waist too (like other shirt-makers)? The arms could also be slimmer through the middle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Galligher Best fitting Shirt, but poor quality on some
Finally a shirt for us skinny guys! I've been looking for a shirt like this for years. Has the classic Brooks Brothers style, yet a perfect fit. Only downside is the quality on some of the shirts. I notice a lot of loose threads after a few washings; although this is common with some dress shirts, this isn't the usual Brooks Brothers quality. I know it will last though, as with all Brooks Brothers shirts. But regardless, finally finding a good shirt the fits makes the few quality issues dismissible. Make it in more colors!!!

If you're looking for a shirt that's low maintenance and looks great, this is it. The collar can be a bit rough before two washes but in terms of quality for the price, there is no better mens shirt available.

I purchased this Non-Iron (NI) Ainsley X-Slim in white. This is the shirt I have dreamed of for years!
The missing box pleat on the yoke is great because it gets rid of all that extra fabric that my X-Slim classic cotton shirts have.
The breast pocket is well placed as well. I remember being a little distressed about it being so low on the first set of classic cotton X-Slim dress shirts.
Golf, Tennis, Hamilton, Clifford, and that sweet looking Cornwall collar would be nice in the future. Also, the houndstooth and Glen plaid basic styles would be nice to see in the future as well.
Over all: I am buying more of these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by GPuryear Great shirt...but need more options!
I ordered 3 of these online and am extremely satisfied with my buying experience. The shirts arrived extremely quickly, within a few days. Overall, the fit is great. Huge strides for Brooks Brothers in moving away from the safari tent appearance of their regular fit shirts. High armholes and much slimmer sleeves and chest. However, the waist is still a little baggy and I will echo other customers' complaints of a "no chest pocket" option. That being said, BB is 95% there towards creating THE dress shirt for an athletic build. Fix those 2 issues, and offer the shirt in more colors, and you've got the perfect slim shirt collection.

I am 5'9", 150lbs and this shirt fits me better than any other I have ever owned. Being a thin guy, I thought I would have to become accustomed to the ballooning around my torso and sleeves that could hold 3 of my arms, but no more - this extra slim cut fits me like a dress shirt should. In addition, the no iron cotton is amazing. I wish there was more of a variety in terms of shirt styles and colors, but that won't keep me from buying more of these in the future.

I am 5'7", 145 lbs and have a hard time finding dress shirts that don't billow at the sides; I wear a 15-32. This is the best otr shirt i've tried in terms of fit. It's a fitted shirt, but isn't tight on me, which is proper. I like that the back doesn't have a box pleat, which is difficult to iron. As for the non-iron finish, I'm quite fond of it. It washes well, although I do find that even if I take it right out of the dryer, I need to iron it to get a more "crisp" look. Brooks Brothers shirts are a good foundation for a wardrobe. I'll be purchasing more for my collection.
My local Brooks Brothers store doesn't carry them yet, but the associate I work with is quick to get them in for me. She even brought in a few sizes so that I know my exact size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by innw23 Great shirts!
These are some of the best non iron shirts on the market. They come out of the dryer looking 99% as well as a freshly ironed shirt, no work required. If you are split between slim and extra slim, know that the slim is not all that slim. If you are a skinny guy, the extra slim is the way to go. At 5'9" 150lbs this shirt in 15 and 1/2, 33 is perfect, whereas in the same size the slim fit was much too large. The only problem is my nearest store doesn't carry extra slim!

I have worn many shirts over the years; however, this is the pinnacle of mens dress shirts. I have worn designer shirts from around the world and this is the first shirt I reach for. I would say that there is no comparable item that I have worn that has lasted as long and maintained its crisp and sharp appeal. No man is complete without this shirt in his arsenal. Even if you only button up once a year, this is the shirt to button.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dominik Finally doing a better job with the fit
This is the first Brooks Brothers shirt I've ever purchased that comes close to being a good fit. I wear a 40 jacket and have a 30 waist, so shirts never quite fit me right. I like the slimmer cut of these shirts and the slimmer sleeves, but the shirt still has way too much fabric/width in the waist. A lot of brands are pinching the fabric on the torso of their shirts to fit the male population who has broader shoulders relative to their waist size. I think Brooks Brothers should continue to research and eventually create shirts that are more suited to this population, especially if they are going to have 4 cuts of shirts. The variance between the cuts should be greater.

I love BB shirts for their quality. The non-iron versions look crisp with minimum ironing. I'm about 5'10", 150lbs and have an athletic build. The extra-slim is great in the chest and arms, but I slim have a tailor slim it down (15/32). My one gripe about these shirts is that I think with a more modern fit, BB should offer slimmer collars. Otherwise, a classic and nice shirt.

Great fitting shirt. The name is a misleading as the fit is not extra slim for men with a regular frame. Only complaint is that the shirts lack a mid-forearm button, making it difficult to roll up he sleeves.

Same great non iron quality as the slim fit without all the extra cloth. Gives a sleak and crisp look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Garadice The Shirt I have Been Waiting For
This is the Brooks Brothers shirt that I have been waiting for. I can finally wear a dress shirt that does not look like I am wearing my big brothers shirt. I wear a 42R jacket and 36W pants and this is the best fitting BB shirt I have tried so far. This shirt has a custom tailored look that provides a trim but not tight fit. The sleeves are very trim and may not work for someone with big arms. The cuffs are also tighter than the slim fit shirts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ceska Good shirt, POOR SELECTION
Everything about these shirts is great but their variety and patterns. Its almost ridiculous how the selection for other the traditional fit shirts is 20x greater than for the x-slim ones.
BB, you guys have an edge when it comes to fit and quality, keep it up with your options.

at 6'1 /160 it is difficult to find a dress shirt that has a contemporary fit. I had a bunch of BB slim fits that were close to the look i was going for, but ...not fitted enough. I am on my 3rd round of ordering ESF shirts and I wont wear anything else.
Regular and Slim fit shirt look sloppy on me. ESF do not blouse and look crisp all day. Perfect for the office, meetings or drinks. ;)
Try finding a Non iron, ESF shirt made better than this. These are worth every penny.

Fit finish and wrinkle resistance is second to none.
I'm 6' and 145 pounds and these shirts fit me perfectly. I used to feel like I was swimming in my shirts because they were so loose around the waste, not anymore! I used the standard Slim Fit shirts for awhile but I always wanted something slimmer, thank you Brooks Brothers for making these! Just offer more colors and styles please. Only problem now is what to do with my standard slim fit shirts...

Probably the best fitting shirt I've ever found. Was wearing the slim fit shirts until now. The extra slim shirts are what I've always wanted but bot able to find. I love that I can get custom sized shirt with a sleek modern fit. No more baggy waist lines or kite-look when I lift my arms!
