Cordovan Tassel Loafers 4.5 5 13 17
Just Gets Better with Time Bought a pair for my adult son-- at first, they fit a little tight, however, over time they conformed to his foot shape as his feet are medium width. Beautiful shoes. December 24, 2010
It's the Fit, Stupid! After about 20 years I returned to the classic Cordovan BroBro Tassel Loafer, having previously switched to tie shoes and then back to loafers once business casual became de riguer at my employer. In fact, I probably still have a pair of old BB Cordovans circa 1985 somewhere in the back of my closet. When I made the decision to trade-up from my usual Johnston & Murphy's purchased at Woodbury Commons, I first stopped off at the flagship Madison Avenue store to make sure I purchased the proper size. The clerk measured my foot using the old-fashioned foot measuring device, and told me what I needed. The first time I wore my new Cordovans on the streets of Manhattan, they seemed too loose and big. I wore them to work for a week, and on my way home one night I returned to the Madison Avenue store to see what could be done to "tighten them up." A different clerk inserted felt-like pads on the undersides of the front "tongues" and that seemed to help quite a bit... at least I knew they wouldn't fall off if I had to run across the street to avoid being hit by a bus. I also bought a pair of the calfskin version of these shoes for about $200 less. in all honesty, the calfskin pair in the same size feels and fits better than the Cordovan. Oh well, maybe when I buy my next pair of Cordovan Tassel Loafers in 2030 I'll go with a half-size smaller or one size narrower... maybe one of each! For the time being, I'm wearing Gold Toe Fluffies crew socks to take up the slack in my Bro Bro Cordovans. October 9, 2010
The Classic I must have owned ten pairs of these shoes through the years. That should say how much I like them. They are nicer than the Alden version because of the extra stitching at the heel. I go down half a size from my normal tie-shoe size. Plus they can be restored to as good as new at the Alden factory. September 3, 2010
Off to a good start This is my first shoe purchase from BB and I look forward to wearing often. They are very comfortable and I'm enjoying the comfort of the leather lining. The service I recieved was very professional. I enjoyed the experience. July 30, 2010
