Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 120 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Extremely Satisfied Pruchaser This is the first time that I have purchased button down oxford shirts from Brooks Brothers. I love the feel of the Supima cotton. I had been purchasing Polo brand button down oxfords. The qulity of the Brooks Brothers shirt is outstanding. The collar lays nicely against the shirt, the cuffs look very neat and I like the single button cuff" it gives the shirt a tailored look rather than an off the rack look of one size fits all. The Traditional Fit shirt is cut well for a bigger man. The fit of the shirt across the shoulders is very roomy which works well for me a tall person with 36" arm length. The Brooks Brothers shirt tail is extra long in comparison to Polo and has an extra button below the belt line which helps keep the shirt together should it pull out of the belt line while wearing. Overall I think the value versus cost for this shirt is outstanding and I would recommend it to anyone! Thank you Brooks Brothers for making an excellent shirt that works with or without a jacket. Rated 5 out of 5 by Original Shirst Still the best, But... I've been wearing these shirts for over 25 years. I like the heft of the material, the bagginess, and the colors. Pink is my favorite (and it's not seen much in St Louis, where I live and work). The shirts last me 5-8 years before showing any wear at all. I also like the fact that they are American-made in part (they used to be all-American, which I wish they still were). I recently bought six more, and the only cavil I have is that the collars seem a bit smaller than they have before--shirts I bought less than a year ago fit better than ones I bought last month. Though I am living proof that the universe is continually expanding, I don't think the problem is entirely mine; I think the collars are simply not as generously sized as they used to be. But they still fit better and last longer than any other shirt. I buy these twice a year--at the summer and after-Christmas sales. They are great value then. Otherwise. the price is a bit out of my reach. March 3, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Break out the Rowenta...you've got to iron these! I got three of these amazing shirts for Christmas. I've been after more things made in America and these fit the bill. I tried to pick some more up at the Tampa Brooks Brothers, but alas they didn't have any of these in stock. None. Not one. "We can order them for you..." Yeah, I know...I can do that too. So, let's get back to the shirts. They are the best shirts I own by far. I enjoy the roll of the collar and I've heard they used to be better but what do I know? I'm a punk 35 yr old :) You will have to iron these shirts but they'll get better with age - softer even. March 10, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Down to my last 1/2 dozen Attn BB shirt manager: Please bring back the real classic Oxford with the traditional collar roll. You guys went back to the original label (great!), and retained the durable fabric (excellent!) but - for some reason - changed the collar thickness, destroying the roll. I'm down to my last 1/2 dozen shirts with the "old" collar I've loved for 30+ years - PLEASE bring it back soon! Thanks. May 27, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Collar not the same The famous Brooks roll is gone. By adding extra thickness to the classic Oxford collar, Brooks messed up one of the two most important features of their famous shirt: that beautiful collar roll. (The other is the "voluminous fit".) Please, Brooks, bring back the original! April 29, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not the same as 15-20 years ago I basically agree with the general applause, BUT compared to the few older ones I still have, the current ones are on the heavy side. Esp, the collar part is far too thick with too many layers of the nowadays much heavier fabric. My old favourites are more comfortable to wear. The buttons are too thick in my view. As I don´t like the non-iron ones, I miss the much wider selection of these shirts that used to be available. They have had these few models and colours for years now, with one or two additions. The fabric in the strong blue shirt is terrible !! It never gets soft... September 29, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top of the Heap I have been wearing these shirts for thirty years. That should say what I think of them. They have remained relatively unchanged, which is a good thing. The changes that have occured aren't good: the collar and cuffs now have a lining, there are too many buttons on the front placket, the material for the blue shirts isn't as nice as it used to be, and many colors have gone missing. December 17, 2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by Dissapointed - but probably my own fault I love your clothes. I wear you r shirts every day. Sometimes I have my initials monogramed on the shirt pocket as I thought I had ordered this time. Rather than place the initials on the shirt pocket, they were monogramed above the shirt pocket. After reviewing the pull-down menu for the monogram, I realized that I picked the first option that said "pocket" rather than scrolling down the list to see "on the pocket". Although this is clearly my error it may be an improvement to put all options that are in the general area (above the pocket, on the pocket, etc) next to each other and maybe even a picture of there the monogram would be located. Just a suggestion thay may have helped me place the right order. As it stands, I have six new dress shirts that I will not wear to work because of the placement of the monogram. Thanks for your consideration. January 15, 2011

I have been a fan of and have worn these for years, so I know I am not mistaken. Also, I worked for Brooks Brothers in the 1980's when the shirt was truly like the original. Has Brooks Brothers considered looking into bringing the original collar back? It used to be about 1/4" longer with no fusing or bulk at all, same with the shirt cuffs. Plus, the first button placement on the placket was lower (although that change back to the original I could do without). It seems to me these shirts appeal to the very people who find these details important. Thank you for listening.

Answer:
The changes you are referring to actually took place before the current owners. The feeling was that unlined collars and cuffs looked sloppy. As for the button placement on the placket, that took place in late 80s/early 90s when Brooks moved from a six button placket to a seven button placket. As a result, the button spacing on the placket came slightly closer together (although the buttons still remain equidistant from each other on the placket which is very nice and very traditional). In terms of the collar length I have found that it can vary from season to season depending on the cutter in the factory (this was also confirmed to me by customer service when I inquired). For example, last season the collars definitely came in a little short, at around 3 and 1/4" (they are supposed to be 3 and 3/8"). This season however, every American made oxford cloth shirt I have purchased (5 in total) have been at least 3 and 3/8" in the collar, some even a bit longer which is fine because there is always a little bit of shrinkage. And while I agree that the unlined collar and cuffs look better and would like to see them return (the collar today is too bulky and does not look nearly as good with a tie as it used to), I have shopped around and tried other American made oxfords from different traditionalist stores and manufacturers, and I have to say that Brooks Brothers is still unequivocally the best American made oxford cloth button down shirt in the market today.

Answer:
The story goes that the new Italian owner thought that the collar (and cuffs too?) looked sloppy without a lining. I agree with you that the old style is much nicer. You can special order them without the lining, but you pay more.

I also miss all the old colors: peach, stone, helios, etc. And I think the old fabric was nicer too.

Answer:
The dress shirts are sized with separate lengths for the sleeve. The first number indicates the neck size, while the second number (usually in the 30s), indicates sleeve length (from shoulder, to wrist).

If you know your shirt size, you should not have a problem.

Yes, over the last 20 years I've gone from a 151/2, 35 to a 17, 36 sleeve. There is a proportional difference in the shirts.

Answer:
I am 6'2" and weigh 170. I would call myself tall and slim. The fit is great and the sleeves are proportional to the fit for a slim person. The slender sleeves and higher arm openings are quite flattering, and I have received a lot of compliments.
I had not experienced any shrinkage with these, but my most recent purchase shrunk a LOT. I will have to return it. I hope this does not mean they have switched things up and went with a lower quality fabric in the Supima shirts.

Take a look at the online size/measurement chart on the specific shirt pages. Fit is Regular, Trim, or Traditional, the last being quite relaxed.

Answer:
Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Brooks Brothers does not offer a "Relaxed" fit. We do however, offer a Regular fit- perhaps this is what you are referring? Simply select that fit from the dropdown menu that says "Fit" and choose your size of 17.5 x 35, which is currently available.
*Do be aware, our blue labels refer to our Slim fit shirts. If that is the one you ultimately prefer, you may also select that particular fit from the dropdown menu as well.

If you have any additional questions, it would be best if you speak with one of our representatives in Customer Service, who may assist you further.
