Rated 5 out of 5 by Good trousers for casual outfit This is honestly the first pair of trousers I've had that I feel great in. They fit exquisitely, I love the pleats, and have a great feel. Unlike my other pair of BB trousers, which are nice of course, these are a non-hassle to clean (a big plus for me). Just wash them, dry them, and hang them up. Done. I've not encountered the fraying problem, because while mine are long, they don't go over the heel of my shoes. I was concerned about their length but the associate said they would shrink up in time so it was fine. June 3, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable and Classic These are very comfortable and look nice. The advantage chinos require no ironing so everyone needs a pair of these as a staple to their closet. The only issue is they are such a large relaxed fit that at times thing fall out of you pockets. I've lost a wallet when I sat down in these pants before. April 24, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by I have been a BB customer for35 years. I wear the Elliot kaki slacks almost everyday. The fraying is getting to be too much. I bought 3 pairs less than 4 months ago and they all frayed. Getting to be too much! Love the fit and comfort. Will they replace them? February 22, 2013

yes i have returned 3 pair so far. getting tired of the return but they exchange them for a new pair everytime. I guess i will keep it up until they fix the problem. Like the pants hate the fraying

My husband wants more of the Elliot chinos he already has. Label says "Elliot". Chinos on line say machine wash. His are Dry Clean Only. Same pants? Some change in the pants to make them machine wash?

If the pants are 100% cotton, then you can machine wash them. If there is any wool content in the trousers, please have them dry cleaned.

I ordered 3 light weight advantage chinos and they just arrived but are much lighter in weight than the advantage chinos I have ordered in the past. I actually wanted a heavier but am confused as to what to order. I have 4 pairs that are much heavier in weight and that I get dry cleaned.

If the category heading states seasonal trousers around January or February, then the trousers would be a lighter fabric for spring and summer season. Also, it would state in the product description if it is light weight.

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Our Thompson fit is more tapered at the leg and has a straighter fit than the Elliot. Both fits do however, have a pleated front.

My question above asked whether these are the same pants, not a general question about laundering clothing. He wants the same pants. Was there a change in the pants to make them go from Dry Clean Only to Machine Wash? Thank you.

If the trousers are 100% cotton then it can be machined washed. There are trousers within our collection that are wool and cotton blend, and suggested method of care is dry cleaning.

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Our Elliot Advantage Chinos are specially-treated with an enzyme finish for effortless maintenance and resistance to wrinkles. As such, we do not recommend letting them out at the hem or waist because it will be evident where the seams were originally. We recommend sizing up and trying another pleat-front fit that is slimmer, such as the Thompson.
