Rated 5 out of 5 by MattSpaiser Rare Classic
The traditional 3-button waistcoat is such a difficult item to find. And like most waistcoats it isn't too long. Other reviews say that it's too short, but the problem is that their trousers sit too low on the hips. If your trousers sit properly at your waist you won't have a problem. Low-rise trousers and a longer waistcoat would throw off the classic proportions. The biggest problem is that trousers with a traditional rise can no longer be found at Brooks Brothers. Brooks Brothers should make their trousers with a longer rise and forward pleats like they used to.

Rated 2 out of 5 by CountyJoe Quality is not bad, fit is terrible
If this waistcoat came with a full back and was sized for a normally proportioned person it would be great. I didn't knock the ratings for not having a full back because it's clearly advertised as backless. I mention that hoping Brooks Brothers will take notice and offer that in the future as this vest is one of the few 3 button waistcoats that will compliment a grosgrain lapel dinner jacket. That said, thankfully the vest WAS backless as the fit was terrible. I'm a little over 5'9" / 165 lbs. and even on the longest length the vest was about 3/4" too short to fit properly. The waist adjustment even on its smallest point of adjustment was far too big. $40 of additional tailoring and the vest now fits me well, but I would expect a little better from Brooks Brothers as returning it really wasn't an option unless I wanted a modern 5 button or tried to order the right size from a UK merchant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Brians well, it fit me...
I wear a 38 jacket, 5'10", 165lbs and I did not have the same problems the previous reviewers noted. I got the medium, and achieved a proper fit by lengthening it one button (still one more left).
This is a traditional garment, with a traditional cut. Most trousers these days are cut much lower, and it's starting to show in evening wear as well. Of course, the same places with the lower rise tuxedo pants will also probably be selling five-button, high cut vests in a rainbow of colors along side them (i.e., trends aren't always good). If your trousers aren't sitting at your natural waist, yes, this will likely be too short.

Fabric is a lovely barrathea. I prefer that to satin. Glows, instead of shining. I am 5'8", 180#, 42" chest. Size large works, for me. My trousers are the old school, high-waisted sort. If my trousers were slung, at the hip, I doubt the vest would be long enough, for me. With proper trousers, I should think it would fit someone up to two or three inches taller than I.

Even on the longest button length adjuster this vest will not fit anyone over 5 foot 9 inches. Beware.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jersey Nice vest...too short
I agree with the others, it could be longer. While I understand formal trousers are worn higher, the vest still is not long enough. I'm a 44 and 6' 2". Nice styling, but I'll need a trip to the tailor to make it work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tano Too small
This is a ridicoulsly small sized low cut vest. I am a size S in most things (38R suit) and even on the biggest setting this Medium vest is 3" too small. It fits more like an XS or XXS.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TRR5 HORRIBLE FIT
I really liked the look of this vest and purchased it as an alternative to my full back vest. As most others have reported this vest is far too short. After reading the reviews I ordered a size large. I adjusted the vest to be as long as possible and the bottom of the vest was above the waistband of my tuxedo pants and exposed my shirt. This shouldn't happen I am 5'9", 175#, 34" waist size 42 reg.
