Rated 1 out of 5 by Under-shirts are a poor fit vs earlier design I have purchased Brooks Bros under shirts for years. I ordered the under-shirt in the standard (not athletic design) fit. I compared side by side to my older under-shirts and the new shirts are cut much slimmer vs the old under-shirts. This happened several weeks ago and I assumed that I picked up the athletic cut. WRONG! Ordered the stanard size, again, only to have the same issue. Very disappointed in this change. The older Brooks Bros under-shirts are a few inches wider and a bit longer. May 30, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tagless? Not really I've been buying BB tees for many years, and I appreciated when BB removed the tags from the necks of the shirts. However, they subsequently added two additional tags at the bottom of the shirt. These contain laundering instructions (redundant to what's printed at the neck) and a list of addresses of BB business unis. These are truly unnecessary and, while not as bothersome when it comes to rubbing, they do still rub my body. As a result the first thing I do when I buy new ones is cut the tags out with a razor blade. Otherwise the shirts still fit and last as long as they have in the past. I get a year out of first-line duty and a year out of second-line duty until they get turned into cleaning rags. September 14, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pricey but good. Smooth cotton t-shirt wihout annoying seams, tags, or labels. Fit and weight are perfect for layering, and tails are long enough to stay tucked. July 27, 2011

I was told by a sales associate that ALL of Brooks Brothers clothing is pre-shrunk. I wash my husband's underwear (briefs and undershirts) in hot water with bleach before throwing them in the dryer. I've never had anything shrink. I would suggest you buy the size suggested on the package or on the sizing chart.

I recommend the medium as the undershirts are a true fit. I prefer a tighter fitting undershirt and elected to go a size down and I am perfectly happy with the fit after many washings.

This can't be the first time you have ever bought t-shirts? Large, I would think. Start there and if you don't like the fit buy a medium next time.

I'd say the large would fit you fine but not sure if the neck would be tight. I'm 5'11" 180 lbs. I ordered large and the first few weeks they fit great. Slightly loose, not too tight but after a few runs through the wash they have gotten tighter than I would like them to be. The neck is comfortable and lays flat but I wouldn't say its tight. For me, next time around I would order the xl to allow for shrinkage. Hope that helps.

Yes. I think the quality is good enough that these shirts could be worn with jeans and not limited to use only as underwear. It is a very good quality cotton with substance - not thin or flimsy like lesser brands. After I bought the first pack of these shirts for my husband, he did not want to wear any other brand.

I would recommend a large. I am 5'11, 160 lbs, tall and slim, and wear a 38 suit. I wear a medium and it fits perfectly. Considering your husbands height, a medium might not be long enough.

Here again I purchased the V-neck in large and it was too big and then I purchased the crew neck in large and they were perfect, so just order and return if you can stand the time and frustration

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Our Supima Cotton Crewneck Undershirts typically do not shrink. We do feel, however, feel it is best to remove the shirts promptly from the dryer after laundering and not over-dry them as to prevent any such issues. Provided that you launder the shirts as directed, you won't experience shrinkage.
