Not impressed I had a pair of the BB private label jeans so I decided to experiment with the Levis that are made in the USA. I tried on two pairs of the Levis in the store and picked the one that I thought fit best. After the first wash, the jeans had a remarkably awkward fit - tight in the crotch and low rise. I understand but this is not what I look for in a pair of jeans. As usual, the BB staff were incredibly responsive to my plight and took the jeans back no questions asked. I exchanged them for another pair of BB jeans which I love. May 6, 2012
my favorite jeans very high quality - true to size - perfect fit and finish - just follow care label instructions - will not shrink - a must in a connoisseur's wardrobe April 1, 2012
Highly Recommend These are the best pants that I have purchased in years. They are great whether you are trying to lounge around or dress business casual. Highly recommend. November 18, 2011
Best purchase ever Last month I ordered a pair of pants 501 Lewis and I honestly believe that this is the best purchase I've ever done. It was a gift for my husband and he loved it at the first sight. I don;t know if i could find such a quality anywhere else in the world. Congratulation to the company and all of my hopes and expectations to go on like that in the future. Thanks a lot for making us so happy and unique. September 15, 2011

Answer:
These Levi's are made in the USA. Where jeans were ORIGINALLY made. You're paying more for skilled USA craftsmen/women, the Brooks Brothers quality pledge and an all around more finely crafted pair of Levi's than you'll find in a big-box store. Do a side by side comparison and see for yourself.

I suppose I'm asking the more general question: how, specifically, do Brooks Brothers Levi's differ from conventional Levi jeans? Apart from being made in America, do they resemble Levi's that were manufactured in the 1960s, i.e. those that had copper rivets and a leather label above the back right-hand pocket?

Our Brooks-Brothers Levis denim styles are unique and can only be found here at Brooks Brothers. Our denim has the classic Levi’s leather patch on the back, as well as a Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece logo imprinted on the inside. These denim washes are also exclusive to Brooks Brothers.

I have bought two pairs of the Levis 501's based on the great construction, and great fit provided. My concern is with the use of the light weight denim. Do you think it will wear in normally ? Will the denim tend to " thicken " after washing like some of the lighter weight selvedge denims ?

I know what you mean but mine have been washed 10 times and the nice dark color has only faded very slightly. They still have a soft feel. I think they are going to remain that way.

Answer:
There is a WSJ article that seeks to answer this question titled "How can Jeans Cost $300." It is not a particularly convincing article. The way I see it, given the cost of other Levis products made in the US, the BB product is not a bad deal at all.

Answer:
Bob, I own a pair of each Levi's for Brooks. I am pretty comfortable in saying these are a better quality product than the typical levi's. The cut, the fit and finish and the washes are nicer. I have at least 6 pairs of Levi's not by Brooks, and they are not as nice as the 3 pairs of Brooks. Any compliment I've gotten on my jeans, were all the Levi's for Brooks, in particular the 501 with the lighter wash. I think this accounts for the markup.

Answer:
After years of buying Levis I know I can always wear a 32x34 without even trying them on. These were no different. I've washed/dryed them twice now with no change. Normally I'm skeptical of mail-order purchases but there's no reason for worry here.
