The fit is better than some of the shirts which I have had custom made elsewhere. I was looking forward to trying an extra slim fit so during the holiday's I visited our local Brooks Brothers. They had three, I tried one on and bought two different styles. When I was showing them to my friend, I noticed that they didn't say non-iron. Once I was back to my house I looked at all of my Brooks Brothers shirts and they are all non-iron, except my two new extra slim fit. Can someone provide me with information on how these shirts do with self laundering, if they are not going to work out like my other non-iron, I'm going to return them and get some regular slim fit non-iron.

They have to be ironed every other wash or so, depending on how you wear them. The look is much, much better on non-iron clothing. I don't even consider non-iron to be an option.

BB didn't market it as a non-iron shirt. Your best bet is to get it professionally laundered, without starch. It will last longer and you will love the outcome! I love my BB extra-slim shirts. Best of luck

The buttons are relacements for those on the shirt that may be lost or broken (by laundry, during romantic encounters or the like.) The stick looking things are collar stays to be removed during laundering and replaced to keep the collar flat and in place, especially when wearing a necktie.

Collar stays. They insert into the little slots behind the points of the collar. My advice-- always have extras. I keep a few metal ones on hand that I got from Brooks a few years ago.

The two sticks are collar stays. They are inserted in the corner of each collar tip to keep their shape. Collar stays are not included with button down collars.

One is oxford cloth, a looser fit, and the other is pinpoint a finer tighter weave.

The main difference is the weave of the shirt.
529Q is an oxford weave made of 100%Supima cotton.
531Q is a pinpoint weave made of 100% cotton.
