I'm 5'10, 165 lbs -- not all that skinny. But I always have the same problem with dress shirts: they're always too wide in the abdomen and waist. The only shirts that fit right off the rack are Penguin (but the collars are usually a little snug on the "Medium" sizes) and slim-fit Hugo Boss. I wish a company like Brooks Brothers would make a truly well-fitting shirt. I can't be the only person with this problem.

I'm very glad BB has decided to make these extra-slim fit shirts. They fit much better than their slim fit shirts, which are still cut very full. My only complaint is that the shoulders are a tad too narrow. I saw another reviewer make the exact same criticism. If the shoulders were a bit wider I'd give these shirts 5 stars across the board.

I am a fit guy with wide shoulders and small waist. Most shirts look so blousy on me and I can not stand all of the extra fabric. In the professional world it makes you look sloppy & unkept. Not with these shirts. They are cut perfectly for someone looking to have that slim, clean look without a lot of extra fabric from the armpit down. I bought 3 of them and I think I've found my new brand of shirt. They must be either washed and ironed or dry cleaned. They are not pull out of wash and wear.

I disliked the "tailored fit" shirts sold at Jos A Bank because they were tailored only in the abdominal area, not elsewhere, so they were still a pretty bulky fit.
Given such, I thought that with my scrawny build, these would fit well, but no.
I thought that with my skinny arms, the higher armholes of these shirts would fit but the shirt bunched up around my armpits and chest. The circumference of the arms was otherwise OK, though the wrist circumference was smaller than with other shirts- I didn't think it, too, should be smaller given that a tailor can't add circumference to a too-small barrel cuff.
I gave the shirt high ratings because I can't fault it for conforming to what seem to have been my wrong expectations about its fit.
Just be certain that the very high arm holes are what you need.

I've been looking for a quality shirt that fits this well for a long time. I'm not a tall guy (5'6") and I'm trim. Most slim fit shirts are even a bit on the blousey side (for my taste). If you're a slim guy and like a clean, close (but not tight) fit go with the extra slim fit. Great job Brooks!

I love the Extra Slim fit shirts, they could only be better if BB produced the Non Iron on this fit. Which really the only cons about them is that they are cotton and a bit more work to press than the Slim fit non iron.

Rated 5 out of 5 by vic3 I purchased this shirt for my son, who is built very slim. It is the first dress shirt that actually fits him well. He loves it!

Love the shirt, but needed to get it taken in. Shouldn't have to with an extra slim fit shirt.
