Fitzgerald Fit Charcoal Herringbone Sport Coat 4.9 5 7 7
Fitzgerald Fit Charcoal Herringbone Sport Coat I bought this jacket for my husband and we both loved the quality but had to excange it with Madison fit instead. January 18, 2012
Classic This herringbone jacket is great wardrobe investment. The jacket works well dressed up or dressed down. I have worn the jacket with wool dress trousers, dress chinos, cords and jeans. The Fitzgerald fit is a very modern cut. January 13, 2012
Great fitting sport coat I recently purchased this coat for a second time as my son took the first one I purchased. I liked the coat so much I bought it a second time. It fit perfectly off the rack with no alterations needed and the quality is excellent. A perfect choice with jeans or wool flannels. November 13, 2011
A Great Add on to the Wardrobe I've gotten so many positive comments on this Sports Coat. Its a must have for the fall. The quality and fit for me are perfect off the rack. Obviously, this is going to be different for anyone. October 5, 2011

I take a 42 Reg in Fitzgerald suiting and wear a 40 Reg in the 1818 blazer (Madison cut). Both jackets fit me similarly. What size would I be in this sport coat- 41 or 42 Reg? Which do you recommend?

Answer:
I have Madison cut and Fitzgerald cut suiting/blazers(size 42) in my wardrobe. For now I find that the Fitzgerald fit (size 41) is better for me. Try a size 41. I am 5'8" 170 lbs with an athletic build.

Answer:
I'm a 40 Fitzgerald and 42 on Milano. This 40 Fitzgerald was true to my size.

Answer:
Proably 41 or 42 then. I am 44R for the Madison Cut, but for Fitz I bump up to 45R, 46R wrinkles too much under my arms and it feels like I have a set a drapes across my shoulders/back.

Answer:
Hello,

Based on the information you have furnished, it is difficult for us to give you a definite answer on appropriate fit. Madison and Fitzgerald suits are distinctive and compliment a specific silhouette. As you may know, Madison suits are full cut, and Fitzgerald suits are tapered cut for a slender profile. If you are comfortable wearing both suits, then you will get the same comfort in wearing a sport jacket or blazer in any of the two fits. In addition, you may want to try on a Regent fit sport jacket. The Regent cut is a trimmer cut from a Madison, but not as slender as a Fitzgerald.

Thank you for contacting us.

Have a great day!

My son 21 year old is 5'10, 140 lbs and wears a size 31/32 jean. What style/size jacket would you recommend he try?
He is slender but has broad shoulders (not muscular).

Answer:
I am pretty close in size and prefer the Fitzgerald fit. I also have some of the Regent fit sport coats but like the cut of the Fitzgerald better. With the measurements provided I would guess 40R or 42R.

Is this jacket suitable for a tall (6'1'') slim man? Would a 38R be too short? (42L would certainly be way too big in the shoulders..)

Answer:
Yes, Fitz is a slim cut. I am 6 even and while I do not have the most "slim" it fits me fine. I'd bump up one size from your current one. BB does odd sizing up to 45, so try one from 39-41 and see how it feels.
