Did not wear well anough to be worth high price. Not as high as Church's and slippers of a small number of high-end companies that make all-leather slippers of this style, but still in the luxury range. Within relatively short time slipperse expanded and blue finish scuffed considerably. Overall form caved in, such that I'd be walking around with a side down and have to keep pulling it up.

Tradition, luxury and status
It is easy to understand how this slipper became a classic. It was standard uniform dress in the best English private schools across the world, and for good reason.
The best English boot-makers would be required to make a certain minimum quantity for each school every year. Students would identify their "houses" or "teams" by the color, logo or style of slipper, but generally these would be a standard uniform dress for all students.
The style and design obviously evolved into the wonderful product we see today, and this BB slipper is obviously made by one of the best of those original boot-makers, and, judging by the high quality, the one I bought must have been English made.
These slippers are designed and manufactured to last a very long time, so expect them to become old friends as they mold around your foot with time, just like a glove.
The leather is resilient but soft and supple, the dye and finish is exactly as you would expect from a high quality item and the soft leather soles are just pure pleasure on any floor, carpet, wood or stone.
These are not your ultra luxurious throw away slippers which feel perfect one day and need to be discarded a few months later. These slippers will age well and will stretch and mold well to your feet.
The older they become, the better they become, which is why this style has survived through the centuries so well.
My BB slippers appear to be true to size, although, they will feel tight when new. Remember, the soft nappa leather needs to stretch a little. I have done this before and made the mistake of sizing up because they seemed a better fit. Don't make the same mistake, these are true to size, and broad feet will be fine in the "D", trust me, I'm a US"EE".
I gave my new slippers a good treatment of leather conditioner a day or two before wearing them because I wanted to prepare the leather to stretch nice and evenly from the first day, and they did very well.
My first pair was bought a while ago and now I have just bought a second pair for use as a spare.
English equivalents, from top shoe makers, will not be better quality, and you will not find better value at a similar price without a reduction in the quality of either materials or construction.

Amazing
Once again, I was drawn back to the amazing feel and quality of these slippers. replaced my first pair of the backless ones after 5 years of faithful service. Went full shoe this time, very comfortable, the leather literally molds to your foot. Will buy again many many years from now.

Best quality
These are getting expensive, but I still buy them for their incomparable feel & look. Old style leather slippers that you don't see anymore. Need a little stretching for best fit.
