Rated 5 out of 5 by Classic Fit Dress Shirt: No-Iron, No-Lie This shirt is a dream: I'm reviewing not just the solid colors, but also the striped and dobby-weave versions of this classic shirt. It fits beautifully -- can be worn tucked-in or not, does not wrinkle even when carelessly folded during rushed travel. My only regret is that it is not offered in an extended color range. I love the conservative colors, but would happily buy thirty of these shirts, if they were offered in more colors: ecru, pale yellow, various shades of green (pale, moss, grass), tangerine, magenta, wisteria, french blue, navy, etc. And more stripes and patterns. Business dressing permits increasing degrees of freedom, under conservative suits and in business-casual situations, so a plea for more choice. What's offered is great; more colors would be heaven! Rated 1 out of 5 by The classic isn't classic I have worn Brooks Brothers clothes for more than a decade and have always raved over the quality and consistency in size/fit. I have always been able to rely on the classic fit shirts and any size 10 pants. My experiences when placing orders on line have been very disappointing. The size variances that I am finding in the products is tremendous. I can still walk into a store and buy a size 10 pant. Anytime I order on line, it's hit and miss. Recently, I ordered 2 No-Iron Shirts and they were thin and looked "cheap". When I shop in the store, I find the higher quality I've come to expect. April 8, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Being an older business woman I find it very difficult to purchase smart shirts that will remain crisp through out a busy day and still look good for an evening presentation. The present slim fitting fashion styles do not suit my tall thickening figure, I am grateful that Brooks Brothers continues to stock this line.I have been buying this and the semi fitted/French cuff style, from New Zealand, now for more than 10 years. Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth the cost This purchase was for the purpose of looking sharp all day at a meeting. Got complements all day and asked where did I get the shirt. I have one suggestion, make available (W) sizes for the ladies. I exchanged to the classic fit and went up a size, but it was still a little snug around the middle. November 19, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by best classic shirt quite expensive for a shirt but well worth it I think. The classic shirt will never go out of style - I bought a white one and a light blue one and love them both. February 25, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by COnfused by fit I bought two of these shirts, a blue one and pink one. They are the same style and size. I have previously owned many of these shirts. The pink one fits well (as my older ones all did) the blue one is a smidge tight. I wonder did they change the fit without saying anything? February 9, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by No more going to the cleaners.... I discovered these shirts after Hurricane Katrina. Being away from home and having no clothes, I purchased these non iron shirts in Foley, Alabama. After returning back to New Orleans I could not get over the compiments I recieved on my perfectly "ironed look" Brooks Brothers shirts, not to mentioned, no more going to the cleaners. These shirts have become my daily wardrobe. They may be expensive, but then again, remember....no more going to the cleaners........ January 27, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally a shirt that fits! I love this shirt! The longer cut actually stays tucked in and the sleeves don't look like I'm wearing my little sisters shirt. Now that I have stumbled upon this classic, I have purchased five, and would buy more if there were more colors offered. I would love to see this shirt in ivory or ecru and more variety of stripes. Answer:
I have a couple of BB white non-iron shirts and I think that you will find them to be just fine without a camisole as long as your bra matches your skin tone.

When I first started buying Brooks Brothers 100% cotton non-iron shirts for myself and my family members (around 2002), I don't recall any mention of DOW XLA in the product descriptions. Is DOW XLA new to the process, or is it just that it wasn't included in the description back then?

Also, my original Brooks Brothers non-iron button-down from 2002 is labeled 100% cotton and is definitely not a stretch fabric. Does the inclusion of DOW XLA mean that all of the current non-irons are made of "stretch" fabrics?

Also, are the current non-irons with DOW XLA still considered 100% cotton?

Thank you in advance for any clarification you may be able to offer.

Answer:
Yes, all our womens non iron shirts have XLA. These are not 100% cotton as there is a small % of XLA to provide the "stretch" qualities.

I really miss when you had more of a color selection than just blue, pink and white. I loved the lavender and yellow. Any chance they'll be offered again in the future?
