Absolutely love this blazer!! I wear a B.B. 15-1/2 34, slim fit shirt; the medium size in this is perfect. My shoulders are broad with a 32" waist and the way the blazer tapers is perfect. Its loose enough to wear a layer underneath, and fitted enough to use as a layer underneath a winter sport coat. As a bonus, the down-fill makes the blazer very soft. March 13, 2013
Quilted Chic Very versatile garment. You can use it with your nicest flannels or your favorite jeans. It runs one size smaller. I will have to change mine for one size bigger. October 1, 2012
Great Addition I'm very pleased with this purchase. This sport coat is thin enough to be worn over a thicker coat or sweater. The fit is nice and really does work well as a nontraditional sport coat. I think this is one of those items that'll become a stable. Got the navy blue and plan to get the black soon. August 31, 2012

Hello, thank you very much for your inquiry. Based on your son's measurements, we feel confident recommending a size Small in our Quilted Blazer. A Medium will simply be too big and perhaps too long in the arms.

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Based on the helpful measurements you have provided, we feel confident in recommending a size Large for our Quilted Blazer. If your chest width was 40" you could probably opt for a Medium but as this is a layering piece, you will want the Large for the additional room in the body and arms.
