Historically, a gentleman's necktie announced his allegiance to a university, club, or regiment.
Since 1818, Brooks Brothers ties have been expertly crafted and stitched in our very own workrooms here in the USA. The impeccable workmanship that goes into our ties remains unsurpassed, and is what makes them so unique. For generations, Brooks Brothers has maintained close relationships with some of the finest mills in England and Italy, long considered the true centers of excellence in the art of creating the finest printed and woven fabrics for our ties.
Legendary entertainer Fred Astaire was known to have worn Brooks Brothers ties not only around his neck, but also around his waist. Brooks Brothers ties are still made according to the same high standards as they were 190 years ago. Today, we continue to use innovative fabrics, colors and patterns ranging from the classic to charismatic, to give our ties a truly distinguished look of refinement, luxury and sophistication for which we are famous.

The British Isles-inspired repp stripe tie is known for its signature stripes and vibrant colors.
Originally associated with the regiments, universities, and clubs of the United Kingdom, our famous repp stripes offer a look of established gentility reflective of their heritage. In the early part of the last century, Brooks Brothers deliberately reversed the traditional direction of the stripes so that they went from right to left instead of left to right, thereby making them fit for both king and uncommon commoner alike. From that time on, our repp stripes have been synonymous with both Brooks Brothers and the Ivy League look.

Prized since the time of the pharoahs, madder root has long been associated with royalty.
Our Ancient Madder ties are reminiscent of the paisleys and prints that
first became popular during the reign of Queen Victoria and then later
picked up by the nattier crowds that roamed Jazz Age college
campuses. Characterized by deep, muted chocolates, golds,
burgundies, and hunters and finished with a suede hand, these ties
pair best with flannels, rich tweeds and other woolen-spun sport coats.
