Without any doubt, this is the perfect bow tie. I highly recommend you purchase it and spend the next decade or two relishing the compliments you will receive each time you wear it. Satin. The black bow tie in the Black Fleece collection is a gross grain and turns out an excellent knot as an alternative.

The bow at its widest is about 2" or so. The bow for black formal wear ties, such as this, is usually is smaller than the 2 and a half inch or more for striped and patterned ties worn with less formal attire.

Hello Elpocho,

Brooks Brothers bowties length is 18 inches. However, the width is different for certain types of bowties. For example; the butterfly bowtie width is 2 ¼ inches and point end bowtie width is 1 ¾ inches. While we are on the subject of neckwear, the length of a regular tie (including slim) is 58 inches. Extra long ties length is 62 inches.
Width of regular tie is 3 ¼ inches and slim tie is 2 5/8 inches.

All of the self-tie bow ties have some sort of size adjuster. The main label ones have actual measurement notches and the social primer ones are more trial and error.
