Suiting

The Centerpiece of a
Gentleman's Wardrobe

More so than any other element of men's dress, the wearing of a truly well-made suit announces that a gentleman has arrived. Indeed, excellence in make and materials define the difference between mere man and true gentleman, between workday and way of life. Times may change, but as style and sartorial experts agree, the dress suit has long distinguished itself as the centerpiece of a gentleman's wardrobe.

Fine suiting has been a hallmark of Brooks Brothers since Henry Sands Brooks first opened the doors to his small shop on the corner of Catherine and Cherry Streets in 1818. Then, and for many years afterward, we displayed our suits inside-out on tables throughout our stores so our customers could see firsthand the craftsmanship that went into each piece. Though we discontinued the practice in 1966 after a royal visitor told us he'd much prefer them on hangers, we abide by the same standards of excellence that first led us to show quite literally that quality begins from the inside out.

THE 1818 SUIT COLLECTION

Brooks Brothersrooks Brothers' 1818 Collection marries traditional style with modern innovation and sophistication. Our legendary standards of craftsmanship provide the foundation for this and all of our gentlemen's suiting, and our dedication to sourcing the finest cloths ensures that the suit will not only wear well over time, but that it will look good while doing so.

We understand that the first lesson of being correctly dressed is that a garment should fit as if it were made for the gentleman wearing it. For that reason, we offer three fits—the Madison, the Regent, and the Fitzgerald — which, when coupled with our meticulous workmanship and Italian fabrics, makes for a very polished look indeed.

The Madison Suit
A true Brooks Brothers original and a fine example of the quintessential suit every gentleman should own. Expertly made in the USA of pure wool, our 1818 Madison suit is favored for its relaxed fit, natural shoulders, and easy fitting trousers, all of which add up to an enduringly classic approach to men's dress.
The Regent Suit
A contemporary update of the classic Brooks look. Our most fashionable silhouette, the 1818 Regent is tailored in pure wool and is distinguished by its clean lines, narrower lapels, and slightly trimmer trousers, making it at once both elegant and refined.
The Fitzgerald Suit
Inspired by our archives, the 1818 Fitzgerald is impeccably tailored in a slim, sophisticated fit. With its narrow lapels, higher armholes and trim, plain-front trousers, the Fitzgerald is a study in Kennedy-era class.
